Chapmanville Fire Department will be having Christmas Auctions for the public. Starting October 17th 2026. CVFD will have 2 additional November 28, 2026 and December12, 2026.

It's getting scary out there. Personal protective equipment per personnel is averaging $22k.

Turnout gear life span: 10 years (NFPA recommended life)
SCBA life: Cylinders are 15 years. The actual units may be able to be extended to 20 years depending on maintenance and wear/tear on the units.
Radios: 10 years to 15 years depending on technology upgrades and wear/tear.

Apparatus: NFPA recommended replacement every 20 to 25 years. Mind you we know that we are unable to feasibly afford such a replacement plan. Quality used apparatus.. many of which are pushing that range of life... $200k to $300k.

YOUR SUPPORT IS APPRECIATED, AND EVERY BIT GOES TO KEEP PERSONNEL SAFE, EQUIPPED, AND TRAINED. THEN TO KEEP DEPARTMENT EQUIPMENT, AND FACILITIES FUNCTIONING AT THE HIGHEST LEVEL POSSIBLE!
