The D'Ambra crew is back in action after a short break to deal with the aftermath of the 2 rain events. Sewer connections are coming along at a fast pace on Colonial Avenue. The project is now 60% complete - how time flies! Next week should see the last of the connections on Colonial Avenue, then over to Brackett Avenue to start on sewer connections.

Due to the expected rain event from the remnants of Hurricane Ida, the sewer construction crew has paused for the day and into tomorrow. They'll be on site early Friday morning for the clean-up - again ☹ They've put down preventative measures to help minimize the damage, such as landscaping fabric on the steep areas, and straw bales and waddles around the drainage pipe. But no-one can fool Mother Nature!

Most of this week so far, the D'Ambra Crew spent their time cleaning up after Hurricane Henri. Although it was pretty minor overall, the rain did a number on the newly trenched connections and nicely landscaped lawns. There were many wash outs along the project area that needed to be addressed. The crew expects to be completed with the clean-ups on Thursday and to resume the sewer connections on Colonial Avenue.

The newest schedule and project pictures are posted at our website www.twwd.org - check it out!

What did one toilet say to the other?
You look a little flushed!

Why were there candles in the bathroom?
Because it was a birthday potty!

What does the Octapus do after using the bathroom?
She washes her hands, hands, hands, hands, hands, hands, hands, hands.

OK, it's hot out, but not hot enough to stop the construction on the USDA Phase 1 Sewer Expansion project. Head on over to the TWWD.org website and check out where they'll be for the next 2 weeks. https://www.twwd.org/dashboard/sewer-expansion-project/

It's officially Summer! Beach and pool season is here. Keep in mind that it may be more cost effective to hire a water truck to fill the pool vs filling it from the hose. The cutoff point is about 5000 gallons where the cost for the water truck or the cost for the water bill plus sewer bill, will break even. There is no mechanism to deduct the water that goes into the pool vs the water that goes down the drain. Avoid the shock of a large sewer bill in the future.

From the TWWD News Wire: Tiverton Police Department Chief Jones reports that all the toilets were stolen from the station. The detectives have nothing to go on. They tried to order new ones from Humphrey's Building Supply but they were backed up. On another note the shelves have been re-stocked with toilet paper at Tom's Market Tiverton, they were able to flush out the supply chain issues. {{I'll see myself out}}

It may have been hot on Sunday, but it didn't stop Tiverton Middle School 6th Graders from helping to spread the word about the dangers of flushable wipes. Wipes of any kind, Clorox wipes, cleaning wipes, baby wipes or sanitizing wipes should never be flushed, they cause issues for both the sewer system and the homeowner with clogging and backups.

How does one find out when their home/neighborhood is slated for sewer construction?
Can anyone point me to the sewer expansion status (in the north end of Tiverton)? I am looking and am not finding much information. TY
