All sewer connections have been completed in the Robert Gray Avenue neighborhood in the USDA Phase 1 Sewer Expansion Project! That's a total of 94 properties that are no longer discharging their wastewater directly into the environment, an average of 31,000 gallons of wastewater PER DAY that will now be treated properly at the Fall River Treatment Plant.

Don't worry, D'Ambra is still in the area doing the final clean-up and some paving along Summerfield Lane, Craig Avenue and the bottom portion of Randolph Avenue. Kearns Avenue is being stabilized starting tomorrow.

The updated schedule is posted to the TWWD website www.twwd.org

The USDA Project is moving at a fast pace! Only 16 sewer connections left in the Robert Gray Avenue neighborhood. By the time the project is completed, more than 60,000 gallons of wastewater DAILY will no longer be discharged into the ground. Think about that one, a single 3 bedroom home can generate 330 gallons of wastewater daily, so with 186 properties to connect that's 60,000 gallons that will be sent to Fall River for treatment.

Just a small change in the schedule to shake things up! The D'Ambra sewer connection crew is moving over to start the connections on Robert Gray Avenue for the next week or so. The water line replacement project along Old Colony Terrace is causing some congestion along the bottom of Brackett Avenue. So in order to minimize the impact to the local travel and keep access clear, we'll be moving to Robert Gray Ave to continue more connections.

The full anticipated schedule for the next 2 weeks is posted to the TWWD.org website https://www.twwd.org/dashboard/sewer-expansion-project/ check it out!

Due to the expected rain event from the remnants of Hurricane Ida, the sewer construction crew has paused for the day and into tomorrow. They'll be on site early Friday morning for the clean-up - again ☹ They've put down preventative measures to help minimize the damage, such as landscaping fabric on the steep areas, and straw bales and waddles around the drainage pipe. But no-one can fool Mother Nature!

Most of this week so far, the D'Ambra Crew spent their time cleaning up after Hurricane Henri. Although it was pretty minor overall, the rain did a number on the newly trenched connections and nicely landscaped lawns. There were many wash outs along the project area that needed to be addressed. The crew expects to be completed with the clean-ups on Thursday and to resume the sewer connections on Colonial Avenue.

The newest schedule and project pictures are posted at our website www.twwd.org - check it out!

Myth Busters! In the late-19th century, a London plumbing impresario named Thomas Crapper manufactured one of the first widely successful lines of flush toilets. Crapper did not invent the toilet, but he did develop the ballcock, an improved tank-filling mechanism still used in toilets today.

How does one find out when their home/neighborhood is slated for sewer construction?
Can anyone point me to the sewer expansion status (in the north end of Tiverton)? I am looking and am not finding much information. TY
