Early this afternoon, Ladder 25 was invited to help Walmart with a Children's Miracle Network event.

Walmart stores around the country raise money every year, and every store has a child that they sponsor. Nearly $400 was raised for the sponsored child this year.

We were thankful for the invite and glad to help out!

With every associate who donated, there was an opportunity to soak one of the store's managers. Ladder 25 supplied the water for the festivities.

This event was used as valuable training time for a new operator of the ladder, with hands-on time pumping and using the aerial device.

Yesterday afternoon at approximately 16:30 hours Station 25 and Truck 47(Tobyhanna Army Depot) were dispatched to the 500 block of Graham Lane for a Technical Rescue. A male patient was working in a tree lift when it was struck by a part of the tree resulting in his legs being trapped in the cage. Members from Station 25 and Truck 47 worked swiftly and efficiently to safely remove the patient who was treated and transport to a local trauma center by Pocono Mountain Regional Emergency Medical Services

While companies were taking up from this incident, Monroe County Control Center 911 advised 25 Command that EMS was on another incident within the township and was requesting the fire company for assistance. Crews cleared the technical rescue and immediately went responding. 25-Rescue-2, 25-Utility-3 and 25-Command-2 went to the scene to assist EMS with patient stabilization and extrication while 25-Engine-6 and 25-Rescue-5 went to the boat launch in the K-Section of A Pocono Country Place to establish a landing zone for Lehigh Valley Health Network Medevac 2.

While returning from the incident the crew from 25-Rescue-2 stopped at a local lemonade stand to support a member of our community and get a nice refreshing cup of lemonade.

These incidents are just two of the four the company responded too, if this is something that interests you or someone you know, stop by our main station on Laurel Drive any Monday night from 7pm to 9pm to find out how you can better serve your community! We’re always looking for new members. No experience required! We provide all the training and equipment at no cost to you.

At approximately 03:00 this morning Station 25 was requested to assist Tunkhannock Twp. Vol. Fire Co. Station 42 with a Search & Rescue in the Dixon Miller Recreational Area. 25-Utility-3, Trailer 2, UTV 2 and Drone 2 responded to the request. Station 25 units along with several other area agencies operated for several hours into the morning to locate and extricate the individual utilizing both drones and UTV’s as well as K-9’s from local search and rescue teams. 25-Trailer-2 is just one of the two Special Operations Trailers we have and is able to function as a mobile command post. It was utilized by the multiple agencies involved and kept rescuers warm and dry to allow for a safer and smoother operation.

Thankfully the individual was located and was uninjured.
Station 25 units cleared shortly before 8am this morning.

This was also the first call in service for the new UTV and Trailer.
