August 29th from 10 am to 2 pm TMVFD will be hosting our drive thru BBQ fundraiser! Two meat plates will be $25. We look forward to seeing you there as we raise funds for concrete bay floors. We were fortunate to receive a Texas Forest Service grant for our new tanker 441 and a generous donation from the Mancuso Foundation for our replacement engine 450. Now we are seeking to get our bay floors upgraded.

Thank you to everyone who attended Wednesday night training. Firefighters from TMVFD and Plantersville Stoneham VFD worked together on pump operations skills between the departments apparatuses. Thank you guys for the team work!!! 💪💪💪

Yes we are still taking pre whole sale brisket orders. Here is an update from the Forest Service on fire and weather conditions. Please be careful!

With El Niño conditions developed and strengthening, "flash drought" or the rapid intensification of drought, has started. This will likely support increased wildfire activity into early fall in some parts of the state.

El Niño conditions don’t always produce the same outcome; however, 2015 and 2023, both strong El Niño years, brought periods of rapidly developed drought and increased wildfire activity to parts of the state.

Between July 1 and October 31, 2015, Texas A&M Forest Service responded to 667 wildfires that burned 98,940 acres. During the same period in 2023, we responded to 1,009 wildfires that burned 111,316 acres.

This year is showing some similarities to those previous patterns, with increasing drought and wildfire occurrence. Our Predictive Services department is closely monitoring weather, drought and vegetation, as these trending conditions can change.

Firefighters began their EVOC class and conducted driver competency courses in apparatus’s from both stations to continue to further interdepartmental efficiency when it comes to mutual aid and servicing both communities. Great job everyone and thank you to our neighbors up North for joining us once again. 💪💪💪💪 thank you to the Texas Renaissance Festival for the use of their facility for the driving course. Team work makes the dream work!
