Today, we pause to remember and honor the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. Their courage, sacrifice, and devotion to protecting others will never be forgotten.

Memorial Day is more than the start of summer — it is a day of reflection, gratitude, and remembrance for those who made the ultimate sacrifice so we could enjoy the freedoms we have today.

From all of us at Toledo Fire & Ambulance, we extend our deepest gratitude to our fallen heroes and their families. We also remember the loved ones in our own community who carry their memory every day.

Please take a moment today to honor and remember those who never made it home.

🇺🇸 We remember. We honor. We thank you. 🇺🇸

Some of the hardest calls for any first responder are the ones involving children.

The smallest patients often need the biggest courage — not only from our EMTs, AEMTs, paramedics, firefighters, and volunteers, but from parents and families facing moments no one ever wants to experience.

On Emergency Medical Services for Children Day, we recognize the importance of specialized pediatric emergency care and the responsibility we carry every time we respond to a child in need. From calming fears and holding tiny hands to providing lifesaving treatment, every second matters.

At Toledo Fire & Ambulance, we train to be ready for those moments because our community’s children deserve the very best care possible close to home.

To the families who trust us during some of their most difficult moments — thank you. And to all first responders caring for children everywhere today, we stand with you. 💙🚑🔥

In a small town, EMS is more than flashing lights and sirens. It’s neighbors helping neighbors. It’s familiar faces showing up on someone’s worst day and doing everything they can to help.

During EMS Week, we want to recognize the incredible EMRs, EMTs, AEMTs, Paramedics, and drivers of Toledo Fire & Ambulance.

These individuals leave family dinners, get out of warm beds in the middle of the night, miss holidays, and put their lives on pause to answer calls for this community. They do it not for recognition, but because they care deeply about the people who live here.

In communities like ours, emergency medical services only exist because people are willing to step forward and serve. Their compassion, sacrifice, and dedication make a difference every single day — often in ways the public never sees.

To our EMS family: thank you for the long nights, the hard calls, the endless training hours, and the heart you put into this service. Toledo is stronger because of you. 💙🚑

After the call is over, the work still continues.

Following today’s fire response, crews spent time cleaning hose, checking equipment, and getting trucks back in service so we’re ready for the next call.

A lot of what the community doesn’t see happens after the emergency — and we’re grateful for the dedication of our firefighters and volunteers who put in the time to keep Toledo Fire & Ambulance ready to respond at a moment’s notice. 🚒❤️

Today, on National Firefighters Day, we want to extend a heartfelt thank you to the dedicated volunteers of the Toledo Fire Department.

Your willingness to drop everything—no matter the time of day—to protect and serve your community does not go unnoticed. You stand in the face of danger with courage, strength, and selflessness, all while asking for little in return.

Because of you, our community is safer, stronger, and better prepared. Your commitment, sacrifice, and teamwork are truly appreciated—not just today, but every single day.

Thank you for everything you do. Stay safe, and know that your community stands behind you. 🚒
