We are accepting applications for a full-time Correctional Officer. Applicants must have a high school diploma or GED, be at least 18 years of age, a valid driver's license, and pass a background check. Starting pay is $23.36 an hour ($48,588.13 annually). Applications may be picked up Monday through Friday between 8am to 4pm at the Cumberland County Sheriff's Office, 166 Courthouse Square, Toledo, Illinois 62468. Applications should be turned in by 4pm on Friday, September 4th, 2026.

We love seeing the history of the first responder's of Cumberland County!

The Swengel-O'Dell Funeral Home used this ambulance to provide emergency service to Neoga, Illinois. The ambulance was purchased by the City of Neoga and the Neoga Fire Protection District, using federal grant money. The ambulance was then leased to Swengel-O'Dell. Mr. Joe O'Dell is pictured here in 1974.

We are excited to welcome Brad Gabel to Cumberland!

Brad will be our second SRO at Cumberland CUSD #77. He and his wife, Robin, have two dogs. He is excited to interact with the students and staff this year.

Avoid the Greenup i70 Eastbound on ramp for now

UPDATE: Interstate is back open. Right lane will be closed for an additional 1-2 hours for cleanup.
Troopers are on scene of a multi-unit crash on Interstate 70 eastbound at milepost 125 between Greenup and Casey.

Traffic is being diverted off at the Greenup Exit. The interstate is expected to be closed for several hours for investigation and cleanup.
