Aurora Project, Inc. The Aurora Project, Inc. is a comprehensive housing and life skills program that empowers homeless women and their children. are offered to our families.

Aurora is a supportive housing program for homeless women and children. We provide many services, all designed to lead a woman from homelessness to self-sufficiency and independence. Intensive case management, as well as programs such as Life Skills, Parent Education, Creative Exploration, Financial Management, etc. It is Aurora's purpose to provide a "hand up" and not simply a "hand out".

When Ivy came to Aurora Project, she was determined to change the direction of her life. She found the structure and support she needed—and describes Aurora as “life-saving.” This is what 40 years of Aurora Project looks like: one woman, one family, one story at a time.

Aurora volunteers…Aurora is in their 6th year of our Concessions Fundraiser. Here, Aurora board members and other volunteers work concessions for the Mud Hens, the Walleye, the Huntington Center events and BGSU Sports to raise funds for Aurora's operations.

What a great night at the Mud Hens! ⚾

A HUGE thank you to our volunteers from Owens Corning, SSOE, Amazon TOL3 Titans and Friends of Aurora who worked concessions Saturday night on behalf of Aurora!

Our 15 volunteers raised an incredible $1,667.23 to support the women and children of Aurora. WOW!

A special welcome and thank you to our newest group, the Amazon TOL3 Titans! We hope you had fun and will join us again!

And, of course, a big thank you to Deb for once again pulling everything together. We appreciate you!

💙 A Heartfelt Thank You to Cedar Creek Church! 💙

We are so grateful to this incredible team of volunteers from Cedar Creek Church for spending their day serving Aurora House!

They took on two projects that have needed attention for quite some time. They completely organized our Early Learning Center storage room, sorting toys, donations, and supplies so everything is now neat, accessible, and ready for the families we serve. They also worked tirelessly in the summer heat pulling weeds and restoring our flower beds, making our campus even more welcoming.

What may have looked like simple tasks made an enormous difference to Aurora. By taking care of these projects, our staff can spend more time focusing on the women and children we serve every day.

We are continually reminded that our community is filled with people who are willing to roll up their sleeves and make a difference. Thank you for sharing your time, your energy, and your hearts with Aurora.

We couldn't do it without volunteers like you! 💙

Today's Aurora "40 for the 40th" installment:

Drastic change in composition of Aurora's funding…back in the 2009/10 fiscal year, over 70% of Aurora’s operating revenue came from government sources and United Way. In FY 25-26, these funding sources dropped to 19.9 %. In that same period, Fundraising and Contributions have risen from 30% to 80.1% of Aurora's revenue. As government funding declined, Aurora has proactively sought different revenue sources resulting in this amazing reversal.

The continued success of Aurora is dependent on foundations, friends and neighbors like you who understand the value of the agency, and have the desire for Aurora to thrive for another 40 years.

Today's Aurora "40 for the 40th" installment:
Aurora expanded to assist more residents, and the neighborhood…In 2010, Aurora applied for capital renovation funds, and with the assistance of Roosevelt Gant, renovated the building at 529 Elm Street and created 4 units of additional supportive housing. This renovation also saved one of the classic houses in the historic Vistula neighborhood from falling into disrepair.
