🎓 Meet Our 2026 Scholarship Recipients! 🎓

We are proud to introduce three amazing young women who are being recognized through this year’s Firefly Labor Day Scholarship!

Join us on September 5 at the Firefly Labor Day Scholarship Gala to meet and celebrate these amazing young women and learn more about their accomplishments and future goals!

✨ London Valentine
A graduate of Sylvania Northview High School, London co-founded the school’s first Black Student Union. She will attend the University of Cincinnati, majoring in Elementary Education.

✨ Aubrey Massey
A graduate of Saint Ursula Academy, Aubrey is a founder of the Person-Centered Athletic Network, a nonprofit organization. She will attend Robert Morris University, majoring in Health Science.

✨ Lauryn Hancock
A graduate of Notre Dame Academy, Lauryn has committed to playing Division I soccer at Cleveland State University while majoring in Political Science.

A trailblazing leader, Senator Hicks-Hudson made history as Toledo’s first Black female mayor and currently serves as the Ohio State Senator for the 11th Senate District. A graduate of Spelman College, she has dedicated her career to public service, education, and community empowerment. Her leadership has impacted countless organizations throughout Northwest Ohio, and her commitment to serving others continues to inspire future generations.
