This week, we were joined once again by our neighbors from Siletz Valley RFPD for a HazMat-focused drill night. Teams worked through a HazMat scavenger hunt to sharpen their knowledge of equipment and procedures before tackling a simulated spill scenario.

Every weekly drill is another opportunity to build skills, strengthen teamwork, and be ready when our communities need us most. 🔥🚒

With wildfire season quickly approaching, this week’s drill focused on sharpening our wildland firefighting skills right here behind the station. Toledo firefighters were joined by our neighbors from Siletz Valley RFPD for our annual wildland fire training night.

Crews spent the evening practicing hose deployment, water supply, hand tool operations, communication, and working together in fast-moving wildland fire scenarios. Trainings like these help keep both departments prepared and ready to respond when fire season hits the Oregon Coast.

On the 15th, Firefighter Hankins and Lieutenant Ayarza, joined by Lieutenant Sanning from Siletz Valley RFPD, led a CPR refresher class.
