A new week of play is almost here!

Here's what's happening at DOT this week, including some exciting changes to our schedule!

🌙 Tuesday, September 29: Evening Open Play from 4–7 PM! You asked for more after-school play opportunities, and we're making it happen.

Friday, October 2: We're kicking off our extended October hours! Join us for open play from 9 AM–6 PM.

🐾 Sunday, October 4: Paws & Play is back! Our friends from The Ability Center are joining us for two special sessions featuring their assistance dogs.

LOOK WHAT MY BODY CAN DO! 💪

It's THERAPY THURSDAY! This week in OT, we've been working on body awareness and helping our kiddos build confidence as they navigate the play equipment at DOT!

When a child climbs, jumps, balances, or explores a new obstacle, they're developing so many important skills along the way:

Body awareness: Understanding where their body is in space and how it moves.

Motor planning: Figuring out how to organize their movements to complete a new challenge.

Balance & coordination: Learning how to move their bodies safely and with control.

Confidence: Building trust in their own abilities and gaining the courage to try something new!

Sometimes, the biggest victories aren't about how high a child can climb or how far they can jump. They're about watching a child approach something that once felt challenging and realize, "I CAN DO THIS!" 🥹

And that's something worth celebrating!

What's something your little one has recently gained the confidence to try or do independently? We'd love to hear about it!
