NAACP Toledo The ultimate goal of our organization is to create a more inclusive community in which every citizen has equal opportunity.

The strategic priorities for the Toledo Branch of the NAACP are:
• Expanding Economic and Financial Empowerment Opportunities minorities
• Improving the Political, Educational and Social status of minorities
• Improving the Physical and Mental Health of minorities
• Creating successful learning environments (public and private education) for Toledo’s urban residents
• Eliminating disparities in th

e Criminal Justice System
• Encouraging our community to take on Responsibility, Accountability and Resilience to change our circumstances

As a volunteer organization, all of our programs and initiatives are implemented by citizens who generously donate their time. Our branch is experiencing new and exciting growth. We welcome progressive minded individuals that are committed to achieving social justice throughout our service area. The Toledo NAACP ACT-SO team is officially on the move! Our talented ACT-SO contestants and dedicated Youth Council ACT-SO Ambassadors have boarded the train and are headed to the 2026 NAACP National Convention in Chicago!

As they begin this exciting journey, they carry with them the hopes of our community, the support of their families, and the pride of the Toledo Branch. They’ve worked hard, earned this opportunity, and are ready to showcase their talents and compete with some of the brightest students from across the nation.

Travel safely, represent Toledo with pride, build lifelong friendships, and enjoy every moment of this incredible experience. We know you’ll make us proud!

Please keep our students, advisors, chaperones, and volunteers in your thoughts as they travel, and help us cheer them on throughout the week.

The journey to the 2026 NAACP National Convention in Chicago is officially underway!

Our incredible Toledo NAACP ACT-SO contestants and Youth Council ACT-SO Ambassadors have departed by train, ready to represent our city, our community, and their amazing talents on the national stage.

ACT-SO (Afro-Academic, Cultural, Technological and Scientific Olympics) celebrates the brilliance, creativity, and achievement of African American high school students. These young scholars, artists, scientists, entrepreneurs, and performers have worked tirelessly to earn this opportunity, and we couldn’t be prouder of them.

A special thank you to our dedicated ACT-SO Chair, Erica Leverette, our volunteers, parents, chaperones, Youth Council advisors, and everyone who has supported these students throughout their journey. Your encouragement and commitment have helped make this experience possible.

Please join us in wishing our students and ambassadors safe travels, confidence in competition, and an unforgettable experience. No matter the outcome, they already make Toledo proud!

What an incredible evening at TolHouse for the ACTSO Awards Dinner!

Congratulations to our outstanding ACT-SO contestants who were recognized tonight for earning Gold and Silver Medals in several categories during our local ACT-SO competition!

Your hard work, creativity, and commitment to excellence have earned you the opportunity to represent our community at the National ACT-SO Competition during the NAACP National Convention in Chicago.

This year, 15 exceptional students will travel to Chicago, including members of our Youth Council who will serve as ACT-SO Ambassadors. We are excited to watch them showcase their talents on the national stage.

A special and heartfelt thank you to our dedicated ACT-SO TEAM, Chair, Erica Leverette, and Co-Chair, Lionel Brock, whose leadership, mentorship, and unwavering commitment have helped make this program a tremendous success. Your investment in our youth is making a lasting impact.
