Reminder: We have a beach! And the weather is perfect for a visit.

Located just below our newest playground, north of the Nature Center, our swimming area at Otter Creek Lake has been expanded since last year along with new safety buoys.

Be aware; there are no lifeguards present and swimming beyond the buoyed areas is prohibited for your safety.

It pains us to say that our Kayak/ Paddleboard dispenser is still Out of Order. The parent company has described a communication issue with the device and the system that talks to your phones app. They are currently working to resolve this so the community can take advantage of this awesome offering as soon as possible. Thanks for everyone’s patience!

Did you know we have a kayak and paddle board dispenser!? Well now you do! And it’s open for the season!

Follow the signs to the southwest corner of Otter Creek Lake. There are four kayaks and four paddle boards available to rent on your own. They even come conveniently with paddles and life jackets 😎 Go check it out!

(This dispenser is generally open from May to October and is “Closed” when state water temperature averages are below 65degrees, for your safety)

More field trips! What a beautiful day it was to host the annual Outdoor Classroom event here at Otter Creek Lake with most of the county's fifth graders! Our Director got to teach about prairie habitat where students helped make native prairie seed bombs to throw out into new prairie establishments within our wildlife areas. It was great to see so many kids having a blast learning about their local environment. Can't wait to do it again next year!

What a wonderful day for a field trip! We had a great time hosting North Tama 7th and 8th graders at Otter Creek Lake and Park for some fishing and compass activities. A big thanks to Mr Hammond and the volunteers for coordinating today and bringing us into the classroom this Spring semester! Looking forward to plenty more fun adventures and learning experiences.
