Feb. 24, 2026 marked a momentous occasion for the Tolland Public Library Foundation as it unveiled its Legacy Donor Wall at the Tolland Public Library before a crowd that included many donors from the past 30 years.
In those years, the foundation has granted nearly $250,000 to the library for programs, technology and databases like Ancestry.com.
The crowd was welcomed by Town Manager Brian Foley, President Linda Byam and Library Director MaryAnne Pelletier. The wall was the brainchild of Dani Titterton, the vice president of the Foundation's board.
The audience watched as Phil Titterton and Mike Byam unveiled the wall and the donors and their family members then took photos of themselves with the trunk, branches and leaves on the wall.
Thank you to Andre Garant for the photos.

Thanks to Dom Amore for an engaging book talk sponsored by the Tolland Public Library Foundation on Oct. 20. Dom, the Hartford Courant’s lead sports columnist since 2021, came to talk about the book he has co-written with Hall of Fame coach Jim Calhoun, “More Than a Game: How the UConn Basketball Dynasty was Built on a Culture of Caring.”
He summed up Calhoun’s ability to become a father figure for many of his players: “He believed in you before you believed in yourself.”
His talk was the first in our 15th season of the Eaton-Dimock-King Authors Series.
Thanks to Foundation President Linda Byam for the photo of series host and Foundation secretary Kate Farrish and Dom and to Library Director MaryAnne Pelletier for the new, cushy chairs at the library.
