Join the Tolland Historical Society on Thursday, April 16 for another interesting America 250 program when it hosts Kevin Johnson in "Jordan Freeman: The Fight to Set a People Free."
Freeman was an African American servant of John Ledyard and the body servant of Col. William Ledyard in the Revolutionary War.
Mr. Johnson, an employee of the State Library’s History and Genealogy Unit, has been portraying Mr. Freeman for about 17 years. His presentation is based on extensive research in the collections of the Connecticut State Library and the Museum of Connecticut History in Hartford.
The talk will take place from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on April 16 in the Program Room of the Tolland Public LIbrary at 21 Tolland Green in Tolland.
There is a suggested $5 donation, which can be made in person or via https://tollandhistorical.org/ The Tolland Historical Society is a community-affiliated partner of the State of CT America 250 | CT Commission and will have continued programming throughout the year.
