This is the Tolland Democratic Town Committee's Official page. The Tolland Democratic Town Committee supports the activities of the Democratic party and its elected officers. It is also is a vehicle for nominating town officers and candidates for statewide and even national races. Membership is limited to 35 residents registered in the Democratic party. Candidates for membership are elect

ed by a majority vote of existing members. Meetings typically First Thursday of the month, Conference Room C (sometimes A), from 7:00-9:00pm. The committee conducts periodic fundraisers to raise money for election campaigns and other party functions, complying with all state regulations for political fundraising. Membership in the TDTC provides the opportunity for individuals to participate in Tolland politics and provides the opportunity to be nominated for service to the town. A Republican candidate for State Representative posting an image of a noose to reference gay people is beyond unacceptable, it is dangerous and deeply offensive. This kind of hateful rhetoric has no place in our communities or our politics.

Leaders from both parties should be unequivocal in calling this out. Silence is complicity. Anyone who engages in this behavior has no business seeking public office.
