​We want to share an important update regarding our services. Due to an unprecedented demand for support in our area, Families First has completely exhausted our current funding. Because of this, we are temporarily unable to accept any new clients.
​While we are actively pursuing new grants to reopen intake, the reality is that the need in our community hasn’t stopped. Families First provides critical, baseline support for neighbors navigating crisis—including emergency housing assistance, case management, and resource connection to keep families safe, stable, and together.
What We Do & Where Your Support Goes 🏡✨
Families First of Monroe County serves as a critical lifeline for our neighbors navigating crisis. We provide essential, baseline support to keep families safe, stable, and together through:
-Emergency Housing Assistance to prevent homelessness and secure safe shelter.
-Dedicated Case Management to help individuals navigate complex systems and build long-term stability.
-Vital Resource Connection to link families with immediate food, healthcare, and community support.
100% Local Impact: Every single dollar donated to Families First is spent directly within Monroe County only. Your generosity stays right here at home, going straight to the infrastructure and programs that support our immediate neighbors when they need it most.

Because our grant funding is maxed out, community donations are more critical than ever. If you are able, please consider making a financial contribution. We are truly honored to be nominated! 💚

Every day, we have the privilege of working alongside incredible Community Health Workers across our region—people who show up with compassion, dedication, and a deep commitment to strengthening the well‑being of our communities.

A special shout‑out to Stephanie Aguilar, Families First of Monroe County CHW, for the heart, energy, and advocacy she brings to this work. We’re so proud to have her representing our organization and our families.

Being recognized among such outstanding CHWs is meaningful, and we’re grateful to be part of this network of care and collaboration.

Another Huge Thank‑You to Tomah High School National Honor Society! 💙

We are thrilled to share that the incredible National Honor Society students from Tomah High School also raised $500 to support Families First of Monroe County. Your generosity directly strengthens our ability to provide essential resources and trauma‑informed support to families across our community.

A special shout‑out to Mike Bartz, NHS teacher representative, for his leadership and encouragement throughout this effort. Your guidance helps empower these students to make a real and lasting impact.

We are incredibly grateful to the Tomah Health Foundation for their generous $2,500 donation to Families First of Monroe County.

This gift directly supports our Furniture and Household Goods Program, which provides newly housed families with the essential items they need to safely settle into their homes. Without basic household necessities, health and safety concerns increase — especially for children, older adults, and individuals rebuilding stability after crisis.

Thanks to the Tomah Health Foundation, more families will have beds to sleep in, tables to gather around, and the everyday items that turn a house into a home. Your partnership truly strengthens our community.

Today, Families First of Monroe County had the opportunity to share updates about the needs and experiences of families in our community. We appreciate every chance to discuss the challenges we’re seeing, the strengths within our county, and the work being done to support children, parents, and older adults. We would like to express our sincere thanks and gratitude that Representative Jill Billings took the time out of her busy schedule to visit us.
