The Jay Torrez Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship is to honor the amazing Jay Torrez. Jay grew up in Tome, New Mexico, and college baseball took him to Southern California. A few years later Jay was surfing professionally. He then decided to pursue a career as a Hollywood stuntman. He worked on feature films, TV shows, music videos, and video games as well as stunt coordinating a few gigs of his own. From being set on fire and jumping off buildings to dodging "Hollywood" bullets and punches, Jay did it, and he did it well. In addition to having an adventurous lifestyle, he valued education and completed a Master's degree in Human Performance and Sport. This scholarship is to honor the memory of stuntma Jay Torres and support high school senior students interested in obtaining higher education.
