After completing a 24-hour shift that included a transport run to Jersey Shore Hospital with the RWJ medics, there is truly nothing better than a fresh cup of coffee from one of our local shops to start the morning. β˜•
Grateful to serve alongside such a dedicated and outstanding team. Thank you all.

🚨 Help Keep Toms River First Aid Squad Strong 🚨
For 95 years since 1931, our all-volunteer Toms River First Aid Squad has proudly served our community from Historic Downtown. We deliver professional, courteous, and skilled emergency medical services β€” day and night, all for free.
This year we’ve welcomed 25 new dedicated members ready to continue the tradition. To fully support them and keep our response times strong, we need your help:

Funds for uniforms and essential gear for our new volunteers
Two additional ambulances (we currently run with one)

Your support will help us sustain this vital 95-year legacy for many more years to come.

This past week, our dedicated members went above and beyond, volunteering an impressive total of over 60 hours to the community! Their selfless efforts have made a significant impact, and we're thrilled to see the positive difference they've made. From helping at local food banks to participating in park cleanups, every hour counted and we're grateful for their hard work and commitment to giving back.

🌨️ Update on the Whiting Gardens incident β€” extreme cold strikes again.
Early Feb 3, 2026, a dry pipe sprinkler system at Whiting Gardens Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Manchester Twp, NJ, failed when water entered the pipes (normally air-filled to prevent freezing), froze due to the bitter temps, and caused a burst β€” leading to water leakage from ceilings and deactivation of parts of the fire suppression/electrical systems in the South Wing.
No fire, no public threat, but safety first: ~59 residents were safely evacuated/relocated (46 to partner facilities, 13 within the building) in a massive, coordinated effort.
Huge thanks to the heroes from:
Whiting Fire Company Sta. 33., Manchester Police/OEM/Building/Fire Inspectors, Ocean County agencies, County Sheriff 911 Ocean County EMS Coordinators NJ EMS Task Force (4 MABs + resources), Point Boro EMS, Neptune/Shark River Hills, Toms River Police Department, Jackson, Waretown, Berkeley Township EMS - IAEP Local 55, Hatzolah of Passaic/Clifton EMS, Red Cross, CERT teams, and so many more squads from across counties.
Your seamless teamwork protected our vulnerable neighbors in freezing conditions. True NJ strength πŸ’ͺ❀️
