The Officers and Members of Silverton Volunteer Fire Company #1 attended the Ocean County 200 Club Dinner on Thursday, June 11, to recognize the outstanding volunteer service of Ex-Chief Clark, Past President Jensen, and Life Member DeAngelo.
Each was honored with the Meritorious Service Award in recognition of their many years of dedication, commitment, and selfless service to the Fire Company, the community, and the fire service.
Meritorious Service Award
Ex-Chief & Life Member Robert Clark has had a long and distinguished career in the fire service, marked by over 60 years of dedicated service and achievement. Chief Clark joined Silverton Volunteer Fire Company #1, Station 29, in 1966 and remains an active member today at the remarkable age of 90.
Throughout his distinguished career, Chief Clark held numerous leadership positions within the Fire Company, including 2nd Lieutenant, 1st Lieutenant, Captain, Assistant Chief, Chief, and Trustee. He also served the community as a Dover Township Fire District #2 Fire Commissioner, retiring after many years of dedicated service.
In addition to his commitment to the Fire Company, Chief Clark played a key role in establishing the TRS Brigade and served as one of the Fire Chiefs at Ciba-Geigy in Toms River. His leadership, dedication, and contributions to the fire service left a lasting impact on the department, the community, and all those who had the privilege of serving alongside him.
Chief Clark has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to the protection and well-being of the residents of Ocean County. His leadership, dedication, and example have left a lasting impact and continue to inspire generations of firefighters who follow in his footsteps.

Past President, Life Member, and Retired Firefighter Andrew “Andy” Jensen has had a long and distinguished career in the fire service, marked by over 50 years of dedicated service and achievement. He joined Silverton Volunteer Fire Company #1, Station 29, in 1975 and remains an active member today at the remarkable age of 79.
Throughout his career, Andy has held numerous leadership positions, including President, Vice President, Secretary, and Trustee. In addition to his service with the fire company, he played a key role as Director of the Dover Township Fire Academy in Toms River for many years. He has also been very active with the Toms River Firemen’s Relief Association, where he has held multiple leadership positions.
Andy has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to the protection and well-being of the residents of Ocean County. His leadership, dedication, and example have left a lasting impact and continue to inspire generations of firefighters who follow in his footsteps.

Life Member and Firefighter Lou DeAngelo Sr. has had a long and distinguished career in the fire service, marked by over 40 years of dedicated service and achievement. Firefighter DeAngelo joined Silverton Volunteer Fire Company #1, Station 29, in 1986 and remains an active member today at the remarkable age of 75.
In addition to his service with the fire company, Lou has been very active with the Toms River Firemen’s Relief Association, where he serves as a Life Member Delegate.
Lou has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to the protection and well-being of the residents of Ocean County. His dedication, service, and example have left a lasting impact and continue to inspire generations of firefighters who follow in his footsteps.
Congratulations to Ex-Chief Clark, Past President Jensen, and Life Member DeAngelo on this well-deserved honor. Your years of service and contributions have made a lasting impact and continue to set an example for future generations of firefighters.
