Happy birthday to one of our own today. Alexander Brandon!! Brandon has recently returned as one of our volunteers after a couple of years off while building his family buying a new home and working. Last night, Toms River Fire Co. 1 conducted live-fire training drills at the Toms River Fire Academy. This valuable hands-on experience gave our new probationary members and junior fire officers the opportunity to sharpen their skills, build confidence, and train alongside our highly qualified instructors - right here at our own fire academy.

Friends! It's almost here! This Saturday we have the honor and privilege of rocking the Toms River Fire Department, Co # 1 block party! We'll be on Washington Street from 12:30-4:30! Our friends More Than Okay will continue rocking at 6:00. Get out there!

Today, Chief Weingroff had the opportunity to partner with the Ocean County Library - Downtown Toms River Branch for a special Meet a Firefighter Storytime program designed for children ages 3 to 6. The event was a wonderful opportunity to connect with young members of our community while sharing the importance of fire safety in a fun and engaging way.

The morning began with a story being read to the children, followed by plenty of hands-on fun. The kids had the chance to meet our four-legged firefighter friend, Halligan, explore the fire truck, check out all the cool equipment firefighters use, and even try their hand at spraying water from a fire hose!

A big thank you to the staff at the Ocean County Library for inviting us and helping make this event such a success. We always enjoy opportunities to inspire young minds, build community connections, and perhaps spark the interest of a future firefighter or two!
