Last night, while en route to graduation, crews were dispatched to a reported structure investigation. Captain 3020 arrived on scene along with Engines 3051 and 3041, Ladders 3055 and 3065, and Rescue 3033.

Upon arrival, crews determined the issue was caused by a faulty motor in the A/C unit. Crews secured power to the unit and ventilated the building. No further issues were found.

Congratulations to our newest graduates!

We are proud to recognize the hard work and dedication of our newest members who have successfully completed Firefighter 1 and Firefighter 2 at Toms River Fire Training Center

Congratulations to Owen McGovern, Joseph Roman, Matthew Yezzi Jr. & Anthony Yezzi!

These four have put in a lot of time and effort to reach this milestone, and we are proud of everything they have accomplished.

This was also a special graduation for our department, with three of the four graduates continuing a family tradition of serving our community. Joseph Roman is the son of Ex-Chief and current President Dan Roman, while Matthew Yezzi Jr. and Anthony Yezzi are the sons of current Chief Matthew Yezzi.

Congratulations again to Owen, Joseph, Matthew, and Anthony!

Moments ago, Volunteer members were dispatched for a reported brush fire. Engines 3041 and 3051, along with Fire Police 3017, responded to the scene.

Upon arrival, crews found a small area of brush that had been burned. The fire was determined to have been caused by a firecracker thrown by a passerby.

Moments ago, volunteer members were dispatched for a report of a brush fire.

Chief 3000, Assistant Chief 3010, Engine 3041, and Engine 3051 responded to the scene. Upon arrival, crews found brush and fencing actively on fire. The fire was quickly extinguished, and the area was checked to ensure everything was fully extinguished.

Last night, Mark was officially sworn into the Pleasant Plains Volunteer Fire Department. Mark is brand new to the fire service and is ready to learn!

Earlier this morning, our volunteer members were at North Dover Elementary alongside the Toms River Bureau of Fire Prevention and Toms River Police Department.

Members assisted the Bureau with providing fire safety information while the kids had the opportunity to get an up-close look at Ladder 3065, check out the equipment, and even flow some water from the truck!

We appreciate North Dover Elementary for having us out and giving the kids a chance to get a closer look at the equipment!

Earlier this morning, volunteer members were proud to provide a send-off es**rt for the Toms River Little League Girls Softball Team as they departed for the Little League Softball World Series in North Carolina.

We wish the team the best of luck as they represent Toms River! Good luck!

Earlier this morning, volunteer members responded to a reported pole fire. Upon arrival, crews determined that a tree had fallen into utility wires. Chief 3000 and Engine 3051 secured the scene and remained on location until JCP&L arrived to secure the affected power lines.

Thank you to JCP&L for their response and assistance in making the scene safe.
