The Community Cultural Center is moving to a stand-by status for evacuation shelter services.

REGULAR BUSINESS HOURS RESUME
MONDAY–FRIDAY | 9:00 AM–4:00 PM

While we are moving out of active shelter operations, we remain committed to helping our neighbors who are affected by the emergency.

Tonasket-Oroville Disaster Relief (TODRT) will complete your intake, and the Community Cultural Center will provide your shelter. Once your intake is completed, we will help get you settled here at the Center.

Our community has been through so much these past few days.

Many of us are still trying to process everything that has happened. Some are grieving heartbreaking losses. Others are realizing just how close they came to losing everything. We're surveying the damage, helping our neighbors, and trying to let the reality settle in—all while knowing this isn't quite over yet.

But through it all, we've also seen our community come together in incredible ways. We've mourned together, supported one another, and stepped up to help friends, neighbors, and strangers alike.

We wanted to check in and let you know that we are still here. Our doors are open, and we have resources available. We are committed to serving our community in any way we can.

🍽 Community Meals
We will be serving meals throughout the week:
• Breakfast – 9:00 AM
• Lunch – 12:00 PM
• Dinner – 7:00 PM

Everyone is welcome. Please come join us for a meal, a friendly face, or simply a place to be together.

Tonight at 7:00 PM we will host a watch party for Cal Fires virtual community meeting. If you're unable to attend in person, we'll post the meeting link here and share it again later today.

❤️ Resources Available
The Tonasket Disaster Relief Team is still here to help anyone affected by the fire. If you've experienced any loss—even something as small as a fence post—please stop by to learn about the resources and assistance available.

Thanks to the generosity of our community:

Community Auction has donated essential food boxes for those affected.
Lee Frank's Mercantile has donated bags of essential supplies.

Please don't hesitate to come see us for food, resources, support, or simply a welcoming place to connect.

Finally, thank you to everyone who has come together during this difficult time. Whether you've donated supplies, volunteered your time, prepared meals, or simply checked in on a neighbor, your kindness is making a real difference.

If you have donations for fire victims, you can bring them to the Cultural Center anytime.

Clothing donations should be taken to The Tiger Way on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10:00 AM–3:00 PM.

We are stronger together, and we'll continue walking through this one day at a time.

Hello, Community...

Whew... what a night.

First and foremost, we want to extend our sincerest gratitude to all of the firefighters, first responders, law enforcement officers, dispatchers, and support personnel who worked tirelessly through the night to protect our town and surrounding communities. Your courage, dedication, and sacrifice do not go unnoticed. We are deeply thankful for each and every one of you.

While the fire has moved past us here in the heart of town, it is clear that this incident is far from over. Many of our neighbors remain under evacuation orders, are facing uncertainty, or are anxiously waiting for news. Our hearts are with every family affected by this fire.

The Community Cultural Center remains fully committed to serving our community throughout this event. We want to remind everyone that our doors will remain open 24 hours a day for anyone who needs a safe place to be.

Whether you need a place to rest, cool down, charge your phone, enjoy a meal, gather information, or simply be surrounded by caring people, you are welcome here. We have plenty of food, drinks, friendly faces, and a safe place to land.

We are working directly with T.O.D.R.T. (Tonasket/Oroville Disaster Relief Team) and Incident Command to help ensure our community has access to timely information and available resources.

Beginning tomorrow, an Incident Information Board will be located in front of the Community Cultural Center and will be updated daily by fire officials with the latest available information.

We will also continue sharing updates on our page as information becomes available. However, if you have questions or simply need to talk with someone, please don't hesitate to call us. Someone will be here to answer the phone at 509-486-1328, day or night.

This fire has reminded us once again that the strength of our community is found in one another. Thank you to everyone who has checked on neighbors, volunteered, donated supplies, offered meals, or simply shared words of encouragement. Every act of kindness matters.

Please continue to stay alert, follow evacuation notices, and keep our firefighters, emergency personnel, and all those affected in your thoughts.

We are here. We are ready. And no one in our community has to face this alone.

Community Announcement

As the Sinlahekin Fire incident continues to evolve, we want everyone in our community to know that the Community Cultural Center will remain open throughout the weekend to offer support wherever it is needed.

Our doors are open to everyone. Whether you have been displaced, need a safe place to spend some time, want to escape the smoke, or simply need to be around others, you are welcome here. We have plenty of food, drinks, and a comfortable space where neighbors can gather, connect, and support one another during this challenging time.

We encourage everyone to prepare ahead, have a plan in place, and stay informed by closely monitoring updates from Okanogan County Emergency Management and local officials. Being prepared helps keep you, your family, and your neighbors safe.

The Community Cultural Center will continue to serve as a place of communication, connection, and support throughout this incident. If you need information, resources, a friendly face, or simply a place to catch your breath, please don't hesitate to stop by.
