***UPDATE 10/30*** Due to the overwhelming participation in the electronic drive, TODAY 10/30 will be the LAST day that we will be accepting electronics. We will keep everyone updated on the amount of the donation. We thank everyone who participated and encourage you to pass along this information. Camp Good Days will be pleased with your participation!!

***UPDATE 10/29*** FYI: Due to limited space and packaging requirements, we are no longer able to accept tube TVs or monitors. Because of the high cost of recycling them, a donation is actually not able to be made to Camp Good Days for those materials. We are still accepting all other materials listed below.

Have any old electronics you're looking to recycle while also helping out a good cause? Drop them off at Riverside FCU's Kenmore branch, located at 2853 Delaware Avenue, during business hours from now until November 19. We are participating in a fundraiser called e-Scrap for Camp. e-Scrap for Camp was created by electronics recycling company Sunnking in 2010 to support Camp Good Days and Special Times Inc. Funds raised through recycling electronics are donated to improve the quality of life for children, adults, and families whose lives have been touched by cancer. Attached is a list of acceptable materials to recycle. If you have any questions, please reach out to our head teller Becca Gunning at 716-875-1747 ext. 152 or [email protected].

DON't THROW WATER ON GREASE FIRE: "Sarnia Fire Rescue Services wanted to demonstrate why you should NEVER throw water on a grease fire! Always “look while you cook” but if your cooking oil ever catches on fire safely put on a tight-fitting lid or cookie sheet, turn off the heat and let it completely cool." - Sarnia Fire Rescue https://bit.ly/2RS4cUt

Town Highway Leaf pickup is starting, please do not put leaves in the street, put them between the sidewalk and the curb (if you can). This helps keeping storm drains clear and your street from flooding when it rains. **Please Share to protect our drainage system***

#wewillneverforget Buffalo FD Informative Announcement

09/11/2020

On this night, 19 years ago, thousands of Firefighters went to bed quietly, never knowing the next day would change their world forever.

343 of those Firefighters prepared their uniforms and gear, and slept next to loved ones for the final time.

As Firefighters, we never know what the next day, the next call, may have in store for us. It could demand everything we have, up to and including our life.
Quite simply, when the call to duty comes, we answer it. We respond regardless of social or economic status, ethnicity, race or lifestyle choices. We don't ask questions or for an explanation. We just come to help.

For these reasons, Firefighters remain the inherent symbol of good. As we saw 19 years ago, Firefighters stand as the shining example of the best in humanity.

So live each day to the fullest, and let those closest to you know that you love them. We owe it to our fallen Brothers and Sisters to honor their memory by doing so.

Remembering the 2,977 victims killed on 9/11/01, including 412 emergency workers, of which comprised 343 Firefighters (including 2 Paramedics and one Chaplain) of the FDNY. 23 NYPD Officers, and 37 Port Authority Policemen. 8 EMT/Paramedics and 1 Patrolman from New York Fire Patrol.

...and in memory of all those lost to 9/11 related illnesses in the years since. A number that far exceeds those killed in the immediate collapse of the WTC Towers.

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Asst. Chief Kevin "Doc" Snyder. Kevin has valiantly served the Elma community and the Jamison Road Fire Co. since 1992 as a firefighter, EMT, and Officer, leaving a legacy we can all be proud of. He will be greatly missed.

One of the lieutenants working the road today was approached by a very kind man who gave him this challenge coin and thanked us for what we all do. To the person who took the time to brighten someone else’s day with this random act of kindness, thank you!
