The parking lot will be closing after dark this evening for resurfacing.
There will be little access to the lot at Chieftain Park on Wednesday and Thursday of this week.

Chieftain Park will be playing host to a coed sand volleyball tournament later this summer. Get your team together and support THS volleyball.

The tennis, sand volleyball and basketball court lights were converted to LED this week. These lights can be turned on with a push of a button for night time use by our patrons. The court lights join the trail, field, and soffit lights that all have been converted to LED to provide a brighter light at less cost. Enjoy!

Chieftain Park played host to Tongie F.C.s soccer camps the week of August 3rd. The kids experienced great weather and received instruction from THS coaches and players.

Phase 2 begins today. The restrooms are now open and will be disinfected on a daily basis. The volleyball, tennis/pickleball courts are open, but limited to 15 per court. TRC's ball fields near the fairgrounds are open for practices, but limited to 15 per diamond.
The playground, basketball courts & shelter house remain closed per State & County health official recommendations. Thank you all for your continued cooperation.

Today the State of Kansas shifts to Phase 2 of "Ad Astra: A Plan to Reopen Kansas." This limits mass gatherings to 15 people when social distancing is not possible. Phase 2 is expected to last through Sunday, June 7th.
With the move to Phase 2, our public restrooms will now be open and disinfected on a daily basis. Tennis/Pickleball & Sand Volleyball Courts will be open, but limited to 15 people per court. Our ballfield complex near the fairgrounds will be open, but also limited to 15 people per diamond.
The basketball courts at Chieftain Park & playgrounds throughout the community are still closed until Phase 3.
Patrons shall continue to utilize social distancing practices when possible while utilizing our facilities. Thank you all again for your patience.

Thank you to our maintenance staff that put the nets back up at Chieftain Park today for tennis/pickleball play. Please practice social distancing & keep no more than 10 on the courts at a time.
