🌧️🚒 A Little Rain Didn’t Stop the Togany Fest! 🚒🌧️

We were happy to take part in the Togany Fest Parade today! The rainy weather brought a slight change of plans, but it also gave us the opportunity to welcome a couple of very special guests aboard the fire truck — Freddie and Frieda Falcon from Bowling Green State University! 🧡🤎

We were glad to give Freddie and Frieda a dry place to ride and had a great time having them along for the parade.

Thank you to everyone who came out despite the weather and helped make Tontogany Fest another great community event. We always enjoy being part of it!

We’ll see you next year — hopefully with a little more sunshine!

Monday evening, members of the Washington Township Volunteer Fire Department trained alongside Northwest Wood Ambulance District and the Otsego Local School District athletic trainers.

The training focused on responding to athletic injuries, with an emphasis on spinal immobilization, backboarding, and safely caring for our athletes.

Opportunities like this allow our first responders and athletic trainers to work together, practice hands-on skills, and make sure we’re prepared to provide coordinated care when an emergency happens on the field or court.

A big thank you to Northwest 190 and the Otsego athletic training staff for joining us and sharing their knowledge!

This evening, we had the privilege of recognizing Kirk Shank for an incredible 55 years of service to the Washington Township Fire Department.

Thank you hardly seems enough for your decades of dedication to our department and community. Thank you for being a mentor, role model, neighbor, and friend to so many.

📢 Wood County residents can sign up now for a new emergency notification system to stay alert during severe weather and other potential emergencies.

Wood County Alert (powered by Everbridge) will be used to send local notifications about severe weather, emergencies, road closures, public safety alerts, and other important updates. Users can choose how they prefer to be contacted, including by text message, phone call, email, or a mobile app.

The new system replaces Wood County’s previous emergency notification platform, CodeRED. It is important to note that prior registrations for CodeRed will not transfer, and all users will need to create a new account to receive alerts.
