Last year as part of House Bill 208 in the legislative session, Urban Farming modifications were introduced streamlining the application process by removing the annual renewal requirements. This passed and became effective in May 2025, which means no annual renewal is required this year. To remain in Urban Farming, the land must still meet all qualifications as spelled out in 59-2-17.

The Tooele County Notice of Property Valuation has been sent. This is the time to carefully look over what the county has valued your property at and confirm all data is accurate. You can always call our office with questions or visit our website at https://erecording.tooeleco.gov/eaglesoftware/taxweb/search.jsp to verify Square Footage, Ownership, Etc. Property taxes are based upon the market value of your property on January 1 of the current year. Market value is the price your property would sell for if it were listed on the open market for a reasonable amount of time and the Utah State Tax Commission does yearly audits of compliance to ensure accuracy. If you believe there is an error or have questions on your property's data or value please reach out to the Assessor's Office and one of our appraisers would be happy to help. Eight-months pregnant and out way past her bedtime, our own Cassandra Macklin took home hardware from Assessor Prom (aka IAAO Utah Chapter Awards Banquet) yesterday.

Reminder if you need to appeal your market value all BOE appeals are due by 5pm tomorrow (9/15). If you have any questions please reach out to our office at 435-843-3103.

Please use this application to submit an appeal for 2022 property valuation. Appeals will be accepted regarding the market value of your property only. Appeals will not be accepted regarding the tax dollar amount. The value placed on the property is the market value as of January 01, 2022.

Property Tax Disclosure Notices have been delivered for mailing. You can expect to see these starting to arrive in your mailbox by the end of the week/beginning of next week.
If you signed up to receive an ENotice, these should have been delivered to your inbox yesterday. This is a new service the County offers to citizens as an alternative way to receive annual notices.
