Look who popped in bright and early this Wednesday morning! Mayela who is a Hayden High Senior and did a service project for her Theology class. Each bag filled with treats, a prayer card, and lots of love for Lulac folks. She told me she said a prayer over each bag she made. It doesn’t get any better than this on a cloudy Wednesday. I was deeply touched by her project. Thank you Mayela!

After nearly 13 years at the Topeka LULAC Senior Center, Executive Director Kathy Votaw is stepping away May 1, leaving behind a welcoming community built on programs, trips and meaningful connections that go far beyond the stereotypes of a senior center.

Tomorrow. At LULAC we do have a plan in place in the event of severe weather and also one if our bus is on the road with the precious cargo we are in charge of. We will watch the weather closely tomorrow and may dismiss our folks shortly after lunch if it's looking a little rocky. Kathy

Today, we celebrated our own Mexican Fiesta compliments of Qdoba and the Lulac participants who all contributed with side items. It was yummy. We also had virgin drinks, along with soft drinks. 😊
