🏆 Rib Relay starts at 1:30 PM — come cheer on your favorite team and see who takes home the ribs!

Volunteer Spotlight: The Heart of Our Mission 💙

Today, we’re shining a spotlight on someone whose dedication to our organization is truly beyond measure.

Since 2009, Julie Clanton has been both a valued volunteer and a member of our board. Trying to quantify the hours she has given us over the years would be nearly impossible—and honestly, it wouldn’t capture the impact of her service anyway.

She goes above and beyond, not only for our mission, but for our staff, too. She is the person who steps in, lends a hand, finds a way, and keeps showing up. She never says no; she just shows up.

Her commitment, compassion, and willingness to serve have made an immeasurable difference to our organization and the people we serve. We are incredibly grateful for all she does, all she has done, and all the ways she continues to make our mission stronger.

This map from the National Children’s Alliance shows the population of children under age 18 across Kansas by county, alongside the locations of Children’s Advocacy Centers. The darker the shading, the greater the number of children living in that county.

At LifeHouse Child Advocacy Center, we know that behind every number on a map is a child who deserves to be heard, believed, and supported.

Children’s Advocacy Centers bring together a team of professionals—including law enforcement, child protection, medical providers, mental health professionals, prosecutors, and victim advocates—to help children and families navigate the aftermath of abuse.

BraveTalk is growing! This school year, our prevention education program is expanding into private schools across Topeka and into Wabaunsee County, reaching more elementary classrooms with age-appropriate lessons on body safety, safe adults, and technology safety.
