On Monday June 1, after the murder of George Floyd, the people of Topeka fought back against the pigs. Since then TPD and KHP have arrested 4 people and charged them with felonies like "inciting a riot" and charged 5 more with misdemeanors.
While TPD tries to clean up their image, making empty statements and promising change and doing photo-ops, actions speak louder than words. They just want to keep us pacified so we don't fight back like the people of Minneapolis. They still disproportionately arrest and imprison black and brown people. They still go after protesters when the cameras aren't rolling, even arresting them at their homes. They still come into our neighborhoods with guns and armor like an occupying army, while doing nothing to actually solve the problems we face. And the murderers who shot Dominique White in the back 5 times are still on the force with no punishment. We say enough is enough, it's time to get organized and fight back!
OUR IMMEDIATE DEMANDS:
1. End the witch hunt, drop all charges against everyone arrested for protesting or "rioting", repay all their bail and fines and legal costs, and remove the arrests from their records.
2. Fire, prosecute, and punish pigs Michael Cruse and Justin Mackey who murdered Dominique White.
3. End the bail system that holds poor people for ransom. Abolish all court fees and all other costs related to arrests. We shouldn't have to pay for the boots on our necks or the bullets in our backs.
We will fight to achieve these demands by any means necessary. We will not accept half measures, we will not accept stalling, we will not accept promises from pigs and politicians whose job it is to lie and pacify. We will only accept concrete action.
We do not talk to police. We do not work with police. We do not want the police to exist. There are no good cops, no reform can fix the police, because the police are inherently an oppressive force. The police are gangsters and thugs for the rich, their job is to protect property and profits and terrorize us into compliance, and they're just doing their jobs. No amount of training or reforms can change the nature of the police.
We do not condemn "looters" when the rich rob billions from the working class and all the oppressed people of the world every day. We do not condemn violent protesters or "rioters" because the United States is a country built on slavery, genocide, and war that continues to murder people all over the world every day, and violence is the only language the ruling class will listen to.
