🔴CARBON MONOXIDE (CO) IS INVISIBLE, ODORLESS, TASTELESS, AND CAN KILL IN MINUTES

🚨🚨WHEN A CARBON MONOXIDE ALARM SOUNDS ➡️ EXIT THE BUILDING TO FRESH AIR IMMEDIATELY ➡️ CALL 911 ➡️ STAY IN FRESH AIR UNTIL FIRST RESPONDERS DECLARE THE BUILDING IS SAFE TO RE-ENTER.

🔴 SYMPTOMS OF CARBON MONOXIDE POISONING include headaches, chest pain, shortness of breath, nausea, vomiting, weakness, confusion, and loss of consciousness.

🔴 CARBON MONOXIDE SOURCES INCLUDE:
Grills, camp stoves, furnaces, water heaters, fireplaces, wood stoves, gas ranges, non-electrical heaters, vehicles, boats, fuel-burning equipment, e.g., chainsaws.

🔴AVOID CARBON MONOXIDE EXPOSURE:
• After snowstorms, clear snow from dryer, furnace, stove, and fireplace vents.
• Keep generators outdoors, away from people, windows, doors, and vents.
• Never idle a vehicle inside a garage, even with the garage door open.
• Service fuel-burning appliances every year.
• Never use camp stoves, grills, or gas-burning tools indoors.
• Never use gas, kerosene, or propane heaters indoors.
• Never use a gas stove to heat your home.
• Keep vehicle exhaust pipes clear of snow.

🟡INSTALL CARBON MONOXIDE ALARMS IN YOUR HOME:
• On every floor.
• In every sleeping area.
• Near every fuel-burning appliance.
• At doors leading to attached garages.
• In every room over a garage.

🟡CARBON MONOXIDE ALARMS SHOULD:
• Have battery back-ups.
• Be tested regularly.
• Have batteries replaced annually.
• Interconnect so if one sounds, all sound, if possible.

🐶PETS are more vulnerable to CO than humans: Most CO alarms do not sound below 70 ppm - levels fatal to pets. Get CO alarms that are sensitive at lower levels. Watch pets for abnormal behavior.

Not everything you read online, whether from an ad or an influencer, is true. Know where to go for the most accurate information to keep your baby safe.

A new investigation from 'Consumer Reports' sheds light on the dangerous information online, just as rates of infant deaths are rising.

Glow sticks are great for helping keep kids visible on Halloween night. But be aware of potential hazards.

With Halloween on the horizon, Kansas Poison Center at The University of Kansas Health System reminds us that while glowsticks can help children see and be seen, they can be a danger if not used properly. Children should not to put these in their mouths or chew on them. They can break open and the contents can be irritating to the eyes or mouth. Never put these in the microwave. Sweater weather is officially here, and that means one more thing to check before you buckle up: removing the bulky coat before buckling the car seat. A thick coat can compress in a crash, leaving the harness too loose to do its job. Buckle and secure the harness first, then you can add the coat over the top or use it as a blanket instead. This small move can make a big difference in how well the harness can protect your rider.

Charge large items like e-bikes, scooters, and power tools outside when possible. Do not block exits when charging. These batteries store more energy, and fires can grow quickly if they fail.
