Essential Activity


Essential activities are activities or tasks essential to an individual’s health or safety or the health and safety of

their family or household members. These activities include:

• Obtaining medicine or seeing a doctor or other health care provider

• Getting necessary services or supplies for themselves or their family or household members, such as

food, pet food, and supplies necessary for staying at home

• Obtaining supplies necessary for maintaining a household

• Obtaining supplies necessary for working from home

• Engaging in outdoor activity, such as walking, hiking, or running

• Performing work providing essential services at an Essential Business

• Caring for a family member in another household

• Caring for the elderly, minors, dependents, persons with disabilities, or other vulnerable persons

Essential Businesses

Essential businesses are organizations that provide the goods or services needed for an essential activity.

These include:

• Hospitals

• Childcare facilities

• Government operations

• Pharmacies, health care supply stores, and health care facilities

• Grocery stores

• Gas stations and auto repair facilities

• Garbage collection

• Hardware stores, plumbers, electricians, exterminators, and other service providers necessary to maintain

the safety, sanitation, and essential operation of residences and other essential businesses

• Educational institutions, for the purposes of facilitating distance learning;

• Laundromats, dry cleaners, and laundry service providers

• Businesses that ship or deliver groceries, food, and goods directly to residences.

I don't understand how an elected House Representative can complain about having to sit through a debate on an amendment while in committee. He stated he was wasting parts of his life by listening to an issue that other committee members found had value. Representative Tarwater from Johnson County, I hope your constituents appreciate your dismissive attitude while doing the job they elected you to do.

Wake up call.

Immediately after the election Trump transition spokesman Jason Miller explained that Melania would be staying in New York because there was "obviously a sensitivity to pulling out a 10-year-old in the middle of the school year".
We have since learned that the cost of security for Melania and Barron to remain at Trump Tower is $183 million/year. There is also no indication that they will actually move to DC this summer. So in essence the Federal government is giving the Trump family a $183 million annual voucher so Barron can attend the elite private prep school of his choice.
Meanwhile, we learned last night that Trump's budget would completely eliminate funding for the National Endowment for the Arts. The NEA, with an annual budget of only $148 million, is able to provide seed money for arts programming in literally every Congressional district in the country.
So, on the one hand you have a $183 million school voucher for a single 10-year-old at an elite private school. On the other hand you have a program that impacts arts and cultural programming throughout the entire nation.
NOT NORMAL.
