HAPPY JUNE !! We're on our "Summer Heat" Tour helping Veteran's who prefer in-person help to setup a VA Sign-In accounts that'll provide access to My HealtheVet. This week, find us at:
• Topeka VAMC - Wed June 3 in Bldg 24 Rec Hall
• Platte City, MO CBOC – Thrs June 4
• Kansas City, KS (Cpt Shopteese) CBOC – Fri June 5

No appt necessary, just arrive anytime between 9a-3p. Feel free to share/print this tour poster for easy access to workshop dates through the month of August. We're also making another exclusive stop at Emporia KS American Legion Post 5 on 7/20. Setting up a VA Sign-In can help keep Veterans connected with their healthcare and other VA benefits online. We know some individuals prefer one-to one tech assistance. - YOU MUST BRING YOUR SMARTPHONE 📱 (or a tablet/laptop 💻) with ABILITY TO ACCESS YOUR EMAIL during the visit, as well as A VALID STATE ID / driver’s license.

The Kansas Justice League, a community coalition focusing on su***de prevention with Justice Involved Veterans in partnership with the KU School of Law are hosting a half day training and resource fair in Douglas County 6/16 that focuses on Su***de Prevention and Resiliency.

All Veterans, Staff, and Community Members are welcome. Join us for an inspiring morning that will help build your toolkit for especially hard days, connect you with your community, and share food with new friends.

You will hear from three experts in the field on su***de prevention, risk factors, and the brilliance of hope. The keynote speaker is from the Robert Irvine Foundation (YES! THAT Robert Irvine!!!!!) and concludes with a free meal from a Veteran-owned food truck (registration—which is free—is required to receive a meal). See attached flyer for registration and more information.

Stay healthy this BBQ season with these food safety tips :

⏰ Don’t leave food out for more than 2 hours.

🧊 Refrigerate leftovers right away so that the internal temperature reaches 41°F or below within 6 hours.

🚫 Don’t take chances with your health! If you don’t know how long food has been sitting around, toss it out.
