A hospital bill shouldn’t wreck your life.

In Kansas, hospitals can garnish wages or hurt your credit - even when the patient qualified for financial help and never knew it.

Rep. Carolyn Caiharr voted no on a bill that would’ve required hospitals to check first, before starting collections. One simple safeguard. She said no.

Hardworking Kansans deserve to know about help that’s there for them - before the damage is done.

Breast cancer is one of the most supported and one of the most expensive illnesses to treat in the United States.

Kansas State Rep. Linda Featherston is backing Kansas Senate Bill 409, which would require insurance companies to cover all out-of-pocket costs after the initial mammogram if a patient is called back for follow-up breast imaging.

As Kansas families struggle to pay their bills, Robyn Essex consistently voted against expanding Medicaid, which would lower healthcare costs for all of us.

Expansion would also help more Kansans afford doctor visits, prescriptions, and treatment. Research shows it reduces unpaid medical bills and helps people get care when they need it. We should make it easier for families to get care without going into debt, not harder.

A strong education is every child’s right. Sandy Pickert voted to divert money from our public schools to private ones. That’s not investing in Kansas kids.

Kansans work hard - sometimes two jobs - just to put food on the table. Every dollar matters. But Rep. Lauren Bohi voted to let gas companies raise fixed monthly charges.

That means families could pay more even when they turn down the heat. Hard work should help families get ahead. Our leaders should make life MORE affordable, not expensive.
