We are thrilled to share that InterHab has been awarded two Kansas Rural Health Transformation Program grants totaling more than $2.2 million to improve healthcare access and outcomes for Kansans with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD).
StationMD Telehealth Pilot – $2,028,980
InterHab and StationMD will deploy 24/7 on-demand telehealth consultation services for approximately 2,800 Kansans with I/DD living in rural communities and group home settings. This innovative project will provide real-time clinical triage and specialist access, helping prevent avoidable emergency department visits and improving access to quality care.
IntellectAbility CIDDH Healthcare Curriculum – $196,650
InterHab and IntellectAbility will deploy the Curriculum in Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (I/DD) Healthcare statewide, providing CME/CEU-accredited training to more than 300 rural licensed clinicians. The program focuses on evidence-based recognition and management of chronic health conditions in people with I/DD, helping strengthen healthcare capacity across Kansas.
We are also excited to see additional investment in the I/DD community through a $1.46 million award to the Kansas Council on Developmental Disabilities, which will support implementation of the START model to better serve individuals with I/DD and co-occurring mental health needs through community-based crisis prevention and intervention.
These projects represent a significant step forward in improving healthcare access, quality, and outcomes for Kansans with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Thank you to all of the partners who helped make this possible.
