June 6th is our inaugural Doorstep NeighborFest on the grounds of Christ the King Catholic Church, 25th & Wanamaker!

It starts with the 9th Annual Neighbor Helping Neighbor Walk/5K Fun Run at 9am with celebrity starter, Melissa Brunner WIBW, followed by a car show, food trucks, Family Fun area with bounce houses, face painting, and a balloon artist, all free.

We'll have touch a truck with an 'emergency' theme including a fire truck, Top City Storm Chaser vehicle, one of the two original trucks from the movie Twister, KSNT Meteorologist Matt Miller and their Storm Tracker, and a ServiceMaster vehicle.

There's a DJ from 10am-12pm, raffle items and a special announcement about the future of Doorstep...

This is Doorstep's 60th Anniversary which coincides with the anniversary of the 1966 tornado.

Twister Truck has confirmed they will be joining us for Doorstep's NeighborFest with their movie original 1984 Jeep J-10 from Twister! Come see it yourself June 6th, 2026 right here in Topeka!

Happy May Day! We're about a month away from Doorstep's NeighborFest event on June 6th. Check out the events page on our website to sign up for the 5k Fun Run/Mile Walk, and to enter your slick ride into our car show.

Barry Feaker CEO of Compassion Strategies spoke on "Ending Chronic Homelessness...Why Not?". It often takes the teamwork and participation from several organizations to transition someone off the street into permanent housing. It can be done and it’s people who care an awful lot about our community who make these things happen.

Last night we celebrated our volunteers. It truly is caring people working to better our neighborhoods and support others going through emergencies that is the heart of Doorstep. Barry Feaker CEO of Compassion Strategies spoke on "Ending Chronic Homelessness...Why Not?" a powerful message for a powerful group of concerned folks who are acting out their faith.

60 years of support. 6 churches coming together has grown into over 60 faith communities living their faith as neighbor helping neighbors. When life's emergencies happen we support victims.

If you'd like to support you can donate financially, provide donations of food and clothing, or volunteer your time getting these physical needs into the hands of your neighbors in need.
