History was made at Lansing Correctional Facility! On Saturday, August 29, 2026, LCF hosted its first-ever Family Fun Day inside the medium/maximum-security yard.

The area was transformed with tents, bounce houses, and games, allowing residents to spend invaluable, open-air time with their children, grandchildren, and loved ones.

From staggered morning arrivals to a powerful first-time meeting between a father and his son who drove from Oklahoma, the day was filled with respect, healing, and hope. Strong families build safer communities. 🔑❤️

Watch as our resident culinary students at Hutchinson Correctional Facility pack 250 custom gift bags for families staying at the local Ronald McDonald House. This incredible project marks a major milestone for our vocational track, proving that the skills learned here are built on community, care, and giving back. Our Central Office Employee Engagement Committee hosted an amazing event today to cool off and connect. Staff enjoyed delicious bowls of ice cream with all the toppings and refreshing root beer floats—all for just $2!

Best of all, every dollar raised goes directly back into our employee funds to power future team events and keep staff morale high.

Thank you to our incredible committee for putting this together, and to everyone who came out to support our team!

Building a foundation for long-term success and sobriety! 🤝✨
From August 10-13, the Kansas Department of Corrections hosted a specialized Substance Use Adult training at the Hutchinson Correctional Facility (HCF).

This intensive program equips resident peer mentors and staff to facilitate a comprehensive 47-session curriculum focused on sobriety and creating actionable success plans for returning to the community.

We are incredibly proud of these resident peer mentors, who are now officially certified to teach this curriculum! These individuals have already been working diligently alongside SACK staff at HCF and Winfield Correctional Facility to co-facilitate classes and provide daily peer support.

It is a privilege to work with these dedicated mentors as they help their peers build vital life skills and maintain sobriety every single day.
