I caught-up with Michaela Butterworth, a past board member, while she was in Topeka for a short visit. I presented her with a Token of Appreciation for her work as a Board Member, and beyond. Michaela has helped with many of the digital and print items you see at meetings, for fundraisers, during Citizens Academy and TPD events. She continues to offer her talents and expertise (and patience when teaching me how Canva works!) on projects.

We had a successful month on the Spotlight Table at Ta Co. Topeka, raising $380.46! I stopped by TaCo to pick up the check, and have dinner (maybe a margarita since I had DD). I presented a Token of Appreciation to Tyger, the manager, to thank him for his support of the Ambassadors and Tlthe Topeka community.

Thank you to all that stopped in and enjoyed a meal, and maybe some drinks, at the Spotlight Table.

💙🖤 Kansas Law Enforcement Memorial Week 🖤💙

This week, April 27-May 1, 2026, we join law enforcement agencies across Kansas in honoring and remembering the brave officers who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty.

During Kansas Law Enforcement Memorial Week, we reflect on the courage, service, and dedication of those who gave their lives protecting others.

This year, four Kansas officers who were killed in 2025 will be added to the State Law Enforcement Memorial:
• Undersheriff Brandon Pierce Gaede – Phillips County Sheriff’s Office
• Deputy Elijah La’Mose Ming – Wyandotte County Sheriff’s Office
• Officer Hunter Lee Simoncic – Kansas City, Kansas Police Department
• Sergeant Scott William Heimann – Hays Police Department

We also take time to honor our own local fallen officers whose legacy of service continues to inspire us.
