The KBF Pizza Club is in full swing! How’s your reading list coming along?

If you missed our last post, we’re bringing back childhood nostalgia with the Kansas Book Festival Pizza Club—because adults deserve free pizza for reading, too!

Here’s how it works:
1. Pick at least three books from this year’s list of Kansas Book Festival featured titles and receive 10% off the bundle.
2. Your receipt is your ticket to a pizza party at 785 Beer Company in Topeka.
3. The party will feature free slices of cheese pizza for all KBF Pizza Club Members, a full menu and drinks available for purchase, and the best part: Literary trivia about all the Kansas Book Festival books YOU purchased. If you did your reading, you’ll win big!

July 17 - September 23: Buy your 10% off bundle and get to reading!
Wednesday, September 23, 6:00 pm: Kansas Book Festival Pizza Club Pizza Party at 785 Beer Company. Bring your receipt or donate at the door for entry!

Pick up your bracket in the library, fill it out and bring it to the welcome desk by September 11. Then, vote each week by placing a pebble in the jar of your favorite books and see who moves on to the next round. The winner gets to choose four books from the bracket to keep! Kick off WU Literary Week on Monday 9/21 at the 2026 iREAD Lecture featuring Lara Avery discussing "The Memory Book," 7PM in White Concert Hall.

On Friday 9/25, the Hefner Heitz Kansas Book Award in Fiction will be awarded to Tim Bascom for "Continental Drift," 4PM in Plass 120.
