We not only wrapped up our spirit week showing our love for sports, but today, our hard-working second graders participated in the 3rd Annual Market Day.

It is the culmination of six weeks of earning “money” by having jobs, turning in homework, receiving effort bonuses, and other earning incentives. Every week they tallied up their money and were issued a paycheck which they logged into a check register. The day before Market Day they cashed their checks.

Market day consisted of Turnerelli’s Bistro Italiano, Santiago Game Hub, arts and crafts, a store and many other goodies. This year, we were very blessed to have the support of our high school’s CTE group and our amazing Mrs. Ramos!

A special thanks to our Lincoln staff for being so accommodating and to the many helpers who contribute their time to this terrific event.

Our students learned so many valuable and real life lessons and skills along the way and today they enjoyed the spoils of their efforts. They had a great time! It was wonderful to turn them loose and have “the best day ever."

Registration for our free, full-day Discover Works Summer Program will close on Tuesday, May 19th! This program is open to all current K-8 Toppen*sh students, regardless of academic level. It is not summer school! Instead, it is a fun and engaging opportunity designed to help students stay active, continue building skills, and enjoy exciting summer experiences with their peers.

Students can look forward to...
🫧Participating in fun, hands-on enrichment activities
🚌Taking field trips
➗️📚️Strengthening their reading and math skills
👩🏻‍🔬🎨 Exploring opportunities such as science, cooking, art, community service, and more
🍎Enjoying nutritious meals, and
😋Staying connected with friends in a safe, structured, and engaging environment

The program will take place Monday through Thursday, June 29 through July 30, 2026. Daily program hours will be 8:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., with free childcare available for 30 minutes before and 30 minutes after the program each day. Transportation and meals will be provided.

Families can register by completing the ParentSquare form sent to them or by filling out a paper registration form and returning it the school or district office. Paper forms are available in school offices and at our district office. Registration will close on Tuesday, May 19, 2026.

Do you love seeing free books for kids at our district events? Over the past few years, many of those books and family literacy events, including Lucky Diaz Family Night, were made possible through an IAL grant with Educational Service District 105.
That grant ends this September, but we want to keep getting books into the hands of Toppen*sh kids! We are applying to bring this grant directly to Toppen*sh School District, and we need your help.

We need to hear from parents, students, teachers, and librarians. Please take a few minutes to complete this quick survey. Your feedback will help us understand how students and families access books and read at home so we can write the strongest application possible.
