THANK YOU TO EVERYONE who has supported me during this process! I appreciate everyone's encouraging words, monetary support, vote, and putting signs up in support of my campaign. I have learned so much during this process. I'm grateful that I still have a great job with Lancaster Co. Sheriff's Office that I enjoy. Congrats to Rachel Hartenbach on your re-election!

I don't know if you had a chance to read the Letters to the Editor in last week's Southside Sentinel or not but I wanted to clarify something. While I sincerely appreciate John Hooper's kind words endorsing me, I do not currently work as a Deputy County Clerk as he stated. For the last 12 years, I have worked for the Lancaster Co. Sheriff's Office. My duties, however, involve dealing with all criminal and civil process paperwork along with Concealed Handgun Permit applications from Circuit Court. I'm sorry if there was any confusion on this - I have never claimed to work as a Deputy Clerk, I work WITH the Deputy Clerks as a counterpart. Also, THANK YOU to Laura McMillian for her letter! I sincerely appreciate all the support I have received from the Middlesex Co. Republican Committee along with friends, family, and colleagues.

There are so many people who have written letters, shared my posts, given monetary support, and reached out to me with their well-wishes. Every day people tell me they have seen my signs, heard my commercials, and tell me "I hope you get it". I've had people I don't even know approaching me and telling me they will be voting for me or they have voted for me because they looked at my website and liked what I have to say. It really makes me feel good! I just don't even know how to thank everyone for all they have done for me during the course of this campaign. Saying "Thank you" just doesn't seem adequate enough. My volunteer work:

I served on the Board of Directors for Healys Mill Homeowners Association from 2012-2020, appointed as Treasurer. I enjoyed the fellowship and collaboration with my neighbors and the Board and I'm proud of the improvements we were able to make in the HOA during that time. With the help of the neighborhood, we improved the roads, installed new culverts and drainage, implemented a new mailbox structure on Mill Ridge Road, and built a fishing pier & kayak launch on the upper pond.

Currently, I serve on the Board of Directors for the Virginia Association of Notaries. I am a Founding Member and hope that the Virginia Association of Notaries will become a vital resource for Virginia Notary Publics. Notary work is something I'm very passionate about and hope that my work on the Board will help increase integrity within the industry.

Along with my education and work experience, my volunteer work is just one of the many reasons I am a qualified candidate for Clerk of Court in Middlesex County.

I have so much love for this area that I have a hard time even putting it into words. I love living around the water; watching the sunrises and the sunsets along the rivers and Bay are simply breathtaking. I feel so blessed to live in Middlesex County and cherish the friendships I have made here. After living here 20+ years, I can't imagine living anywhere else.

Don't forget to make your vote count. Early voting has started and you have until November 7th cast your ballot (M-F 8:30am-4pm). Early voting takes place at the Voter Registration Office in Saluda (behind VDOT) - it's quick and easy just bring your ID with you. There are also two Saturdays coming up you can vote - on October 28th & November 4th.

Running for Clerk of Court was a big decision that I have thought long and hard about for more than two years. In 2021, there was a Special Election for the Clerk of Court position after Lynn Dunlevy retired. At that time, I had many people approach me and encourage me to run for Clerk of Court. After the election, I had several people tell me they wrote my name on the ballot (completely unsolicited) and I confirmed that information with the Voter Registrar. Since that election in 2021, I have had a nagging feeling I should run but decided I would not choose that path without the support of my husband, Shawn. It wasn't until June this year that Shawn suddenly changed his mind and encouraged me to run for Clerk of Court. I chose to seek the Republican Nomination because I want to be transparent to the public about what I stand for and my conservative values. I appreciate the Middlesex County Republican Committee's support and all their help! This last Saturday the MCRC hosted a Republican Dinner at The Piankitank River Golf Course. What a great event they organized! Senator Stuart and Delegate Hodges both spoke along with the Middlesex Co. Candidates seeking election, including me! I am so grateful I was able to be part of this amazing event. I hope you will join me in voting this election and I ask for your vote on or before November 7th, 2023. voteforallyward.org

Saturday started a bit soggy but the rain stopped and it turned out to be a fantastic day at Wings, Wheels, & Keels! Thank you to everyone who stopped by my booth. It was nice to see so many familiar faces and meet new members of our community. Thank you to the Republican Committee for all their support and help. For example, I would like to implement hard plastic (aka waterproof) Concealed Handgun Permits instead of paper because I'm sure no one's wallet ever ends up on the washing machine by accident, right!? 😁
