The Kanawha Valley RC Swap Meet is THIS Saturday!

We’re just days away from the Kanawha Valley RC Swap Meet, and we can’t wait to see everyone on Saturday, February 28 at the Coonskin Park Clubhouse in Charleston.

Open to the public: 10 AM – 3 PM
Admission: $5
Coonskin Park Clubhouse, Charleston WV

If you’ve been thinking about picking up a new project, finding parts, selling gear, or just hanging out with fellow RC enthusiasts, this is a great place to be. Expect airplanes, cars, trucks, drones, boats, radios, electronics, parts, and more.

Seller setup starts at 8 AM
Tables: $20 for the first, $15 each additional
Raffles and giveaways all day ($1 tickets)

Mark your calendars! The Mountaineer RC Flying Club and the Flying Hillbillies are teaming up to host the Annual Kanawha Valley WV Regional R/C Swap Meet on Saturday, February 28, 2026, at the Coonskin Park Clubhouse in Charleston.

Several members of the Mountaineer RC Club took advantage of the early autumn weather this past weekend to get some flying in—and to help train the next generation of RC pilots. It was great to see wings in the air and smiles on the ground.

Several Mountaineer Flyers will be joining the Hillbillies for their annual Fly-In this Saturday in Winfield, from 10 AM to 5 PM. Come out and enjoy a great day of flying!

The club meeting that was scheduled for today will be postponed due to high water affecting the roads leading to the field.

We will provide an update with the new date and time as soon as the meeting has been rescheduled.

We have a Club Meeting scheduled at the flying field, Saturday, April 5, at 1 pm. Right now the weather forecast is decent for Saturday, so unless it's pouring down and blowing rain, we intend to still hold the meeting - even if under the under the shelter.

We need everyone to attend that possibly can! We have some important items to discuss, including:

- Review of 2024 activities
- Review of 2025 Swap Meet event
- Election of Officers
- Future of the flying field
- Potential Club alternatives
- Memorial ideas for James Butler
- 2025 fly-in events
- Other

A break from the snowy, cold, and wet weather allowed some of our dedicated members to take to the skies today. The grass runway may still be a bit wet and swampy, but that didn’t stop us from enjoying the clear sky and our passion for RC flying.
