Torrance Transit is excited to announce our shuttle service for TORRANCE DODGER DAY on Sunday, August 16, 2026.

The service will provide fans with another convenient, affordable, and stress-free way to travel from Torrance to UNIQLO Field at Dodger Stadium without the hassle of driving and parking.

This service operates from the Mary K. Giordano Regional Transit Center, where customers can park for free, and provides direct service to UNIQLO Field at Dodger Stadium. The fare is just $4 round trip. For faster boarding process, we recommend using TAP Cards, TAP app, Apple Wallet, Credit/Debit Cards for fare.

Buses will begin departing the Mary K. Giordano Regional Transit Center 3 hours before game time. Buses will run approximately every 15 minutes or whenever bus is full.

Due to high demand and limited parking, we recommend that patrons come early and use rideshare service such as Connect Torrance or Uber/Lyft or get dropped off. New users to Connect Torrance microtransit can get first 6 rides free.

Here we are 28 days post the June 2nd Torrance Municipal Election and some election signage is still out there - the one pictured is actually in Gardena!

I guess the boys have been too busy attending City Selection Committee meetings to clean up the environment. Apologies to our neighbors in Gardena!

What are they up to?

As we in Torrance know, on June 2nd Mayor Chen and Councilman Kaji were voted OUT of office. The election was certified by the County of Los Angeles on June 26th. So it is final.

Interestingly, on June 24th King George and RPV Jon attended a Los Angeles County City Selection meeting at the South Bay Council of Governments where Chen nominated Kaji to be a member of the Local Agency Formation Commission (LAFCO).

The Los Angeles County City Selection Committee is an organization that is charged with making appointments to a number of very important County Commissions including LAFCO and METRO. It is comprised of representatives (the mayor or his or her delegate) from all cities in Los Angeles County except Los Angeles - 87 in total.

What does LAFCO do?

LAFCO, in part, reviews and approves proposed agency jurisdictional boundary changes, including annexations and detachments of territory to and/or from cities and special districts, incorporations of new cities, formations of new special districts, and consolidations, mergers, and dissolutions of existing districts.

Remember folks that King George and MAGAtutchi were big supporters of RPV Jon’s effort to annex El Camino Village into Torrance - a $127,000,000 nightmare. And, that was probably one of the main reasons that the dynamic duo (apologies to Batman and Robin) got ousted after just 1 term in office.

Nevertheless, they apparently thought they could still control this issue and force it on Torrance even after they were voted out.

Well, the losers lost again.

You see, in order to be appointed to LAFCO, you have to be an elected official - not a “has been”. One would have thought that King George and RPV Jon would have at least done a little bit of research about the requirements before they made fools of themselves before all of the 87 membership cities of the City Selection Committee! Since RPV Jon was not qualified his nomination did not go forward.

You can’t make this stuff up! I was provided this information on June 27th by my personal friend who was chair of the City Selection Committee and conducted the meeting on June 24th.

So the bottom line is what is so important to King George and RPV Jon in annexing El Camino Village? Since they are no longer in office it appears that it can only be for some sort of personal gain!

Today is Election Day in Torrance. Remember that we are voting for the future of our city.

Please make sure you vote today. And, because of issues with the US Post office not guaranteeing a post mark, we ask that you vote using a vote center or drop your ballot at the drop box located outside the Torrance main library on Torrance Boulevard.

Mayor Frank Scotto and I don’t agree on everything, but we do on who will best serve Torrance as our mayor.

Please elect Sharon Kalani as our mayor. She will serve all the residents of Torrance.

King George and MAGAtutchi continue to assert that it is their fiscal responsibility that took the Torrance Financial Reserves from $600,000 in 2022 to almost $150,000,000 today.

In all actually it was Measure SST that saved our city. And, those two clowns opposed it! Councilmember Kalani made the motion to put it on the ballot!

Four years ago Torrance voters said YES to Measure SST, which has raised almost $100,000,000. But, we are still short almost 40 police officers and one of our fire ladder trucks has only three firefighters on it.

Street and park repairs? When?

Meanwhile, King Chen, Carbetbagger Kaji and Old MAGAtutchi have given themselves huge pay and benefit raises; become frequent flyers to Asia and tout the increase in reserves as a major accomplishment!

They have approved more than 1,000 new housing units claiming Sacramento made them do it. Of course, none of the dark money from developers has anything to do with it!

Let’s bring back ethics and reality to our city! Only 18 days left to get it right!
