Torrington Emergency Medical Services

Torrington Emergency Medical Services Torrington Emergency Medical Service (TEMS) provides emergency medical services for the City of Torr At that time, no EMT's were utilized.

Torrington Emergency Medical Service (TEMS) is owned and operated by the City of Torrington, Wyoming. TEMS is qualified for both Basic Life Support and Advanced Life Support and provides assistance to EMS agencies in Goshen County to provide ALS services when needed. The Ambulance Service in Torrington initially started with the Fire Department using a station wagon to transport patients. Later on

, Colyer Funeral Home and Sutley Funeral home each operated an Ambulance. On November 1, 1980 it was agreed that the Ambulance Service would become a separate organization from the funeral homes. It then became known as Goshen County Ambulance Service (GCAS). GCAS was administered by a Joint Powers Board consisting of members from the Town of Torrington, County of Goshen, one community member, and a Physician Advisor. The original Joint Powers Board consisted of Henry Korell, Mike Varney, Frank Johnson, Neil Willhite and Dr. Richard Campbell. Several years later, the County advised the Town of Torrington that they could no longer afford to subsidize the Ambulance Service so the Town of Torrington agreed to take over the administration and ownership of the ambulance service. Following this event, the ambulance service became known as the Torrington Emergency Medical Services (TEMS). To this date, the City of Torrington continues to own and operate TEMS. Torrington Emergency Medical Service's full-time staff consists of Director Darin Yates and shift-supervisors Albert Lira, Sid Castellaw and Josh Odermann. Multiple part-time EMT-B's and EMT-I's also assits in the daily operation of TEMS. Bonnie Randolph, MD serves as the TEMS physician medical director.

🚑💛 It’s officially “We Couldn’t Do This Without Dispatch” Week… okay fine, that’s not a real holiday, but it SHOULD be.

Behind every siren, every call, and every “uhhh where exactly are we going?” moment, there’s a calm, collected voice on the other end making sure we actually get where we need to be (and occasionally reminding us which turn to take to get there).

To our incredible dispatchers:
Thank you for answering the calls no one else wants to make, juggling chaos like pros, and somehow understanding us even when we’re talking through static, sirens, and questionable radio etiquette.

You’re the real MVPs behind the scenes—and yes, we promise to say “clear and available” louder next time 😉

We wanted to take a moment to celebrate a recent example of the amazing teamwork our First Responders regularly display in keeping our community safe.

Last week, our Communications Center received a 911 call reporting an unresponsive person at a local residence, who was not breathing.

Communications Supervisor Bailye Goulart quickly dispatched the on-duty TPD Officers and Torrington EMS.

Sergeant Kevin Polson and Officer Nick Jenkins arrived at the scene approximately 90 seconds later and located the person.

The officers recognized that the person was likely suffering from a drug overdose, and Officer Jenkins quickly administered two doses of Narcan, which was provided to our agency by Goshen County Public Health, Goshen County WY

Approximately one minute later, Torrington EMS arrived on scene. EMS Director Darin Yates and EMS Shift Supervisor Jeff Morris continued providing treatment until the person was no longer in danger.

Working together is the only way we can save lives and provide great service to our community.

We are grateful for the efforts of these awesome First Responders who make a difference in what they do every day!
