East D Street construction shifts to next phase

Road construction along East D Street will enter a new phase this week as crews continue waterline improvements and street upgrades. City officials announced the intersection of East D Street and 25th Avenue is scheduled to reopen to traffic on Tuesday, June 9. However, motorists should be prepared for a new closure at the intersection of East D Street and 30th Avenue beginning Thursday, June 11.
The closure will allow construction crews to replace a waterline between 28th and 30th avenues. Once the waterline work is completed, crews will install new Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliant curb ramps at the intersections and place new 8-inch pavement as part of the roadway improvements. Drivers are encouraged to use alternate routes and exercise caution in construction areas. Additional updates will be provided as work progresses.
