This was passed onto us by Retired Officer Joe Locasico who is spearheading a fundraising effort for our friend Joey Casagni. Many people know Joey from K&C Autobody and any officer with a bit of time on the job has stood out in the pouring rain with him hooking up a disabled vehicle. For years and years Joey was always there for the people of Torrington and Litchfield County, now is our chance to pay just a bit of that back. Please consider donating to Joey in his time of need! - Local 442

Today August 21, 2021 Joey still fights his fight. He never completely … Joseph Locascio needs your support for Joey Casagni continues to fight cancer-UPDATE

Holiday Food Drive

Members of the Torrington Police Union Local 442 will be conducting a food drive on Saturday, November 16, 2019 at Price Chopper Supermarket (Market 32) in Torrington. The food drive is to help benefit Friendly Hands Food Bank, Inc. of Torrington. The food drive will run from 8:00 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.

Friendly Hands Food Bank, Inc. is a non-profit organization which benefits over 300 families in Torrington, Litchfield, Bantam, Morris, Goshen, Northfield and Harwinton. In its 25 years of existence, Friendly Hands Food Bank, Inc. has seen the needs of families increase and this year is no exception.
During this holiday food drive we are looking to collect some of the traditional Thanksgiving food items such as turkeys, pies, stuffing, gravy, vegetables, cranberry sauce, chicken broth, black olives, pickles, mixed nuts, apple juice, cranberry juice and cake/brownie mixes.

The food bank is in desperate need of everyday food items as well, so any type of donation will be greatly appreciated during our event.

If people are unable to make the event we ask that they please make a donation at Friendly Hands headquarters located at 50 King Street in Torrington. The food bank's volunteer staff will be more than happy to accept any donation including cash donations.

For more information about the food drive please contact Det. Todd Fador or Officer Matt Fifer at the Torrington Police Department (860) 489-2000. For additional information regarding Friendly Hands Food Bank, Inc. please call Maureen Hubert (860) 482-3338.

Members of our union executive board meet with Lanaya and her family this week and we all agreed they are a wonderful family deserving of our support. We are happy to report Lanaya met her goal and is getting her bike!

As a result Lanaya and her brother Jamison would like everyone to help out their friend Dakota Fortier by voting for him in The Great Bike Giveaway.

This sweet little girl and her family were in need of help and the community stepped forward and got it done!! People ask us why does the Police Union hold a fundraiser every year? Our answer is simple, to be able do these types of things for those in need in our home community.

Thanks to everyone who has shown their support!

A Torrington family surpassed their goal in donations and votes in the running for a specialized bike and is now giving back.
