IMPORTANT! Please read immediately. The Torrington, CT Housing Authority will use a Random-Draw Lottery System to pick 1000 pre-applications to be placed on the Housing Choice Voucher waiting list.

The Housing Choice Voucher program is the federal government's major program for assisting very-low-income families to afford decent, safe, and sanitary housing in the private market. Participants are able to find their own housing, including apartments, townhouses, and single-family homes. The participant is free to choose any private rental housing that meets the requirements of the program. Housing Choice Vouchers are funded through the federal Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and are administered in Connecticut by over 40 public housing agencies.

If you are in need of affordable housing, I implore you to come into the Clubhouse and allow us to assist you with the application. THE APPLICATION MUST BE SUBMITTED NO LATER THAN FRIDAY, MARCH 6TH.

The United Way of Northwest Connecticut is a drop-off location for VITA - Volunteer Income Tax Assistance. They are now setting up appointments for qualified individuals. Please call their office for more information. Thank you.

Due to inclement weather. We will be closed Monday, January 26th and reopening on Tuesday, January 27th.

Please keep in mind, Tuesday morning transportation will be delayed as we clear out the vehicles.
