March 22nd has, for the past 24 years, stood as a day of honor, respect, remembrance, bravery, and reflection for the Stark County Sheriff’s Office and the Streicher family. On March 22, 2002, Deputy Adam Streicher made the ultimate sacrifice while serving a warrant. [UPDATED – May 24, 2025]: MISSING PERSON: CATRELLE REED

The Kewanee Police Department continues to investigate the disappearance of Catrelle Reed, who was last known to have had contact on Wednesday, May 22, 2025, at approximately 2:00 PM.

We want to thank the community for their concern, support, and continued willingness to assist. We understand the public’s desire for information and are committed to providing updates as often as possible. At this time, we can share the following:

- There is currently no vehicle description available.

- There is no verified location from which Mr. Reed is known to be missing.

- Search efforts have taken place in areas of interest, including where a vehicle was believed to have been driven and later parked near his residence.

- We have requested and reviewed camera footage from locations near these areas.

- We are utilizing every investigative resource available—this includes Flock license plate reader cameras, cell phone forensics, neighborhood canvasses, CSI services, drone operations, interviews, and coordination with outside agencies when necessary.

While we are working diligently to gather and verify information, some details may be withheld to protect the integrity of the investigation and avoid sharing unconfirmed or potentially misleading information.

It is with profound sadness and grief that we announce the passing of OEM Deputy Director Jay Snodgrass. Jay's passion for public service was tragically cut short last Friday, after suffering a medical emergency. After a valiant fight, Jay passed away this morning at OSF St. Francis - surrounded by his loving family who remain in our thoughts and prayers.

Memorial information will be shared at a later date.

I would like to thank everyone who donated coats to the Toulon coats for kids drive this year. About 30 were estimated to have been donated, several hats and sets of gloves as well. A few families reached out from Toulon and the rest we had helped out the Stark County School District with coats for the kids at school. If for any reason someone missed the deadline do not be afraid to reach out. We are here to help. Happy Holidays and stay warm.
