In 1986, a group of concerned citizens and professionals formed the Bradford County Child Sexual Assault Task Force with a shared commitment to protecting children through education and accountability.

On October 22, 1988, that commitment became the incorporated organization we know today as The Children’s House.

In 1989, support from the Children’s Trust Fund helped create a dedicated, child-friendly facility where children could be interviewed in a safe, supportive space, reducing the need to repeatedly recount their abuse.

As we celebrate our 38th anniversary of incorporation, we honor everyone who helped build this mission and everyone who continues it today. To our staff, board members, community partners, donors, and volunteers: thank you for helping children feel heard, supported, and hopeful.

A community came together for children. Thirty-eight years later, you’re still showing up. 💙

A forensic interview gives a child a safe space to talk without pressure. At The Children's House Child Advocacy Center, specially trained interviewers use a neutral, non-leading approach that lets children share what happened in their own words and at their own pace.

Other professionals involved in the case can observe from a separate room, which means a child doesn't have to repeat their experience to several different people.
