Keeping kids safe doesn’t stop when they go online. 💜

The digital world gives children so many ways to learn, connect, and communicate, but it also makes conversations about privacy and personal safety more important than ever.

Parents and caregivers can help by regularly talking with children about:
🔒 Keeping accounts and privacy settings secure
📍 Never sharing their location, address, school, or other personal information
👥 Only connecting with people they know and trust
💬 Coming to a trusted adult if something online makes them uncomfortable, scared, or unsure
🚩 Blocking and reporting suspicious accounts, messages, or requests

Online safety doesn’t have to be one big conversation. Small, ongoing conversations help children know what to look out for and, most importantly, that they can come to you when something doesn’t feel right.

Stay safe. Stay aware. Keep the conversation going. 💜

🍽️ You dined. They donated. Together, you made a difference! 💜

This April, 20 local restaurants came together for Dine to Donate: Cooking for Kids, and with the support of our incredible community, helped raise an amazing $10,654 for The Children’s House!

Every meal ordered, every restaurant visited, and every dollar donated helps ensure children and families throughout Bradford and Sullivan Counties can access services at no cost to them.

We are incredibly grateful to each of our participating restaurants for choosing to support our mission and to everyone who dined, ordered, shared, and helped spread the word.

20 restaurants. $10,654 raised. One community showing up for kids. 💜

Thank you for making Cooking for Kids such a success!

We are proud to receive support from The Guthrie Clinic through the Donald Guthrie Community Benefit Grant Program. 💙

This funding will help The Children’s House create new therapeutic spaces designed to provide a safe, welcoming environment where children and families can begin to heal.🏠

Thank you, Guthrie, for believing in our mission and investing in spaces where children can feel safe, supported, and heard.

We are proud to be part of a community that continues to show up for children and families when they need it most.

Help Us Make the 6th Annual Gratitude Gala Possible! 💛

The Children’s House Child Advocacy Center is looking for businesses, organizations, and community partners to join us as sponsors of our event on October 24th.

Last year’s Gala showed just how much our community can accomplish together:

✨ 226 attendees gathered in support of our mission
💛 More than $57,000 raised to support our work
📱 44,005 Gala-related social media reach, extending sponsor visibility beyond the event itself
🏡 159 children served by The Children’s House throughout the year
🌟 5 years of Gratitude Galas bringing our community together for children

This year, we’re ready to build on that momentum.

A Gratitude Gala sponsorship is more than recognition at an event. It’s an opportunity to put your business behind a mission that matters while gaining visibility before, during, and after the Gala through event promotion, social media, and community engagement.

Most importantly, your sponsorship helps The Children’s House continue providing a coordinated, child-focused response for children and families impacted by abuse in Bradford and Sullivan Counties. Our services are provided at no cost to the children and families we serve.

Your business can help make hope and healing possible.

Join us as a sponsor of the 6th Annual Gratitude Gala and show our community that you stand with children. 💛

Interested in sponsoring? Send us a message or visit chcac.org/gala to learn more.

As students head back to school, teachers, school staff, coaches, and other trusted adults may be among the first to recognize signs that a child may be experiencing abuse or neglect.

You don't need proof, and you don't need to investigate. If you have reasonable cause to suspect child abuse, make the report.

🔍 Reporting can make a difference. Speaking up when you have concerns can help prevent further harm, connect a child with protection and support, and ensure concerns are addressed by the professionals responsible for investigating them. For mandated reporters, making that report is also a legal responsibility.

🚨 Suspect child abuse in Pennsylvania?
Contact ChildLine through the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services at 1-800-932-0313. ChildLine is available 24/7.

After a concern is reported, Children’s Advocacy Centers work alongside law enforcement, child welfare, medical, mental health, and prosecution partners to provide a coordinated response for children and families.

As a new school year begins, remember:

Recognize it. Report it. Help protect a child. 💙

Today is National Nonprofit Day 💙

At The Children’s House Child Advocacy Center, our mission is centered on one thing: making sure children and families impacted by abuse don’t have to navigate what comes next alone.

But what exactly does a Children’s Advocacy Center do?

This short video from the National Children’s Alliance offers a powerful look at how the CAC model brings professionals and services together around the child, creating a more coordinated, child-focused response to abuse.

For children and families in Bradford and Sullivan Counties, The Children’s House is that place.

From forensic interviews and family advocacy to specialized mental health services and coordination with our multidisciplinary team partners, we work every day to reduce trauma and help children and families move toward healing.

On National Nonprofit Day, we’re grateful for every donor, volunteer, partner, professional, and community member who makes this work possible.

At The Children’s House/Child Advocacy Center, we provide a safe, supportive place for children and families when there are concerns about abuse or neglect.

Through family advocacy, forensic interviews, medical services, mental health support, and collaboration with our community partners, we work to reduce trauma and help families move toward healing, safety, and resilience.

Every child deserves to feel safe, heard, and supported. That is why we are here.

Last month, Sara had the opportunity to represent The Children’s House at the National Children's Alliance Leadership Conference! 💜

The conference brought together CAC leaders from across the country to connect, learn from one another, share ideas, and strengthen the work we do for children and families in our communities.

It also brought a special full-circle moment! Sara had the chance to reconnect with Katy, a former Executive Director and Forensic Interviewer at The Children’s House, who returned to the NCA Leadership Conference this year as a presenter in her new role with the FBI. Katy presented on forensic interviewing of victims and witnesses following incidents of mass violence.

We love seeing the connections built through the CAC movement continue across organizations, roles, and years. We’re grateful Sara had the opportunity to learn, connect, bring new ideas home to our team, and catch up with a familiar face along the way!
