The Pennsylvania State Police will be at the North Towanda Fire Station at 40 Hillcrest Dr, today from 10:00 to3:30 today doing child safety seat inspections. Come get your seats check so you know your precious cargo are properly protected.

UPDATE: We are sold out of chicken for the barbecue on May 9th. Thank you for your continued support!

Here it is, folks. Our first barbecue of the year will be held on May 9th. The price this year is $9 a half. If you would like to reserve your chicken, please call 570-265-7916 or send us a message on Facebook Messenger on this page. We look forward to seeing all of you, and thank you in advance for your continued support of the North Towanda Fire and Rescue Volunteers. Chicken can be picked up between 11:00 and 12:30. If not picked up by 1 o'clock without prior arrangements, it will be sold to the next person on the list.

I would like to extend my sincerest gratitude to all the personnel who assisted with the fire today. Given the challenging terrain and the extensive amount of timber burning on the ground, containing and extinguishing the fire proved to be particularly difficult. Our team spent approximately 7 hours on the scene ensuring the fire was fully brought under control. A special thank you is extended to departments 1, 3, 7, 15, 17, 21, as well as the Bradford County Forestry crew, the Bradford County EMA, and Drone team, Guthrie EMS, Pa, DCNR, and the Bradford County 911 crew. I would also like to thank Tereasa Radney for donating and delivering pizza and fruit to the scene for our personnel,

Our thoughts and prayers are with the Yonkin family and the members of the Dushore fire community.

We are deeply saddened to share the passing of former Station 57 Fire Chief Frank Yonkin and his wife, Bonnie, as the result of a motor vehicle accident February 24th in Albany Township.

At 1543hrs on Feb 24 Station 57 and Station 8 were dispatched to a serious crash near the intersection of Route 220 and Harney Road, Albany Township. Station 8, Ambulance 1-57, Rescue 57, Station 58 and Chief 57 responded. Upon arrival, crews found a passenger vehicle involved in a head-on collision with a tri-axle dump truck. Tragically, the two occupants of the passenger vehicle succumbed to their injuries.

Chief Yonkin was a dedicated leader, mentor, friend, and veteran who gave countless years of service to the Dushore Fire Company and the community he cared so deeply about. Bonnie was a steadfast supporter of the department and a valued member of our fire family.

This is a tremendous loss for our department and our community. We ask that you keep the Yonkin family, our members, and all those affected in your thoughts and prayers during this incredibly difficult time.

We extend our gratitude to Ryan and the team at 3D's Pizza for their generous donation to our fire department, which consisted of 15% of the proceeds from large pizza sales last week. We encourage the community to support 3D's Pizza and Subs, renowned for their exceptional pizza, chicken wings, and signature cheesesteak sub.

Okay folks, do to the snow day last week and their good sales performance, these folks have decided to stay another week. They had met the minimum sales requirement before the start of Saturdays sales. So for all this weeks sales the North Towanda Fire & Rescue Department will make at least 5% of every sale, plus all of the tips that are left. If we can reach the next plateau of 12,000 total we will bump that up to 10% of every order. Thank you for all your continued support.
