The Area Agency on Aging is a community planning agency and an advocate and facilitator of activism among the aging. Also, it is a promoter of services which held the aging stay at home in the community as an alternative to nursing home care and other forms of institutional living. We attempt to enhance independence and self-sufficiency to allow older persons to remain in their own homes as long a

s possible. Our primary objective is to reduce the need for unnecessary institutional care through the coordination of supportive services. Our agency operates under the philosophy of the lease restrictive alternative for the provision of services.

The Towanda Active Living Center will be hosting Denise Rossman from TechOWL for an informative presentation on the services and resources TechOWL provides on Tuesday, September 29, 2026 from 10:30am-11:30am. Snacks and drinks will be provided. No reservations are required.

Denise will explain what TechOWL is and how they can help individuals with disabilities and older adults maintain their safety, independence, and quality of life through tools and supportive technology.

This presentation to open to the public, so please join us to learn more about the resources available and how TechOWl can help individuals remain independent and safe in their homes and communities.

As part of its annual Give Back to the Community initiative, the Wellsboro Active Living Center is pleased to support the Tioga County Foster Care Program.
To assist this effort, the Wellsboro Active Living Center will be holding a raffle for this beautiful handcrafted queen size quilt accompanied by matching pillow shams.
Proceeds will benefit both the Tioga County Foster Care Program and the Wellsboro Active Living Center.
