Yesterday, December 18th, was the annual Bradford County Leadership Conference for first year members, also known as Greenhand Day!
Greenhand Day is a fun filled day full of workshops that are geared towards teaching first year members the basic essentials to being an FFA member. The day started off with opening ceremony and an introduction to our Bradford County FFA Officer Team. Then, members broke into rotation groups as the went to workshops on Opportunities in FFA, Etiquette, Public Speaking, and AET! During these workshop members learned about the events the can attend through FFA, how to properly where official dress, proper table etiquette, how to present yourself when public speaking, our FFA Creed, and the ins and outs of working the AET website where FFA members record and keep track of their experiences throughout FFA! Members also had the opportunity to participate in a large group activity with our FFA State Secretary Nina Coolidge and FFA State Sentinel Ravyn Bashore! Afterwards, all members, advisors, and guest present broke for lunch were they heard inspiring words from our keynote speaker Dale Harper! After, lunch members broke into teams to play a large group trivia game with Northeast Bradford Advisor Mr. Pifer, where they got to learn more about the history of the National FFA and the Pennsylvania FFA Organizations. After, trivia members got to watch a reflection video from past Bradford County FFA members who made huge and lasting impressions! Finally, the conference came to end with closing ceremony.
The 2021 Greenhand Day was fun, inspiring, educational and definitely one for the FFA scrapbook!
